Hello, Game Design!

I am making a horror minigame, and I have set up a demo for you guys.
I need to know if I'm on the right track, or if it's just plain stupid.

You will find a Gui here.
Tell me if it's any good. (Only the Play Button works for now)

Ok, once you hit PLAY, you will be spawned in a demo passageway with one single jumpscare.
Keep walking down the passage 'till you find the jumpscare.

If you find no jumpscare, you either joined a server that someone already triggered,
or
You have laggy connections.

The reason I posted this was to see if you, the general public, think my demo is scary.

Please rate it on a 1-10 and say why...

NOTE: Only one person can join at a time. Since this will be a "single player" game, there will be 6 copies of the same map, and a 6 player limit. For now, if you join while another person joins, your character will not load, and the Gui will not work.

Also, no cheating by walking backwards. Cx
This will be solved later. :P

Not too shabby.

I like the blinking, its pretty school.

I'd rate it SO FAR a 2 or 3 out of 10

Not because its horrible, but because its a WIP and the walking takes a little too long.

Lol, ok...

The first passageway is 500 studs, but the other passages will be much shorter...
I was thinking about adding a tutorial that explains things on the first path, but I honestly don't know what to explain...

I'll probably cut the first path in half to save some time... :)

Also, any ideas for what you guys would make for good jumpscares?

I can't access the asset number right now, but the scary gong sounding thingy was a symbol sound slowed down to 0.25...

The tick noise when you scroll over a button is the paintball gun fire sound sped up to 10.

I like to make innovative sounds from other weird sounds. ^_^

It's pretty good! The gui is fine and the passageway is well made. The blinking lights are a good effect too. I would give it a 8 out of 10. The jumpscare wasnt that scary. Otherwise, very good!

I've had some people find only the jumpscare scary, but they don't mind the atmosphere...
Then some who find the atmosphere good and the jumpscare not scary...

Idk what to make of this. :o

Maybe... I... should... just finish it. :P

Ahh to bad, I'm homeschooled :P it only takes me about 1-2 hours to finish my work.
Instead of 8 in "real" school.

It's pretty good. It could use just a tiny bit of tidying up, yes, but it's definitely a great game on the road to the front page.

I agree, it was actually kinda boring for me. I was just walking for 2 minutes waiting for the promised pop-up, and when it actually showed up I was like: "Was that the pop-up?"

I didn't even flinch.

Oh and the reason why yours have such a "dark" atmosphere is because you game has ONLY dark colors, which doesn't soothe the mind but make it work harder to focus on and find detail in the objects that are black, thrust causing you mind to already be extra busy and let your guard come down to a point that your more likely to be scared without noticing that your going to be more afraid of things.

That and when your a young kid, remember how your afraid of the dark? well that fear will always be around, its just now your more tolerant to the dark.

Plus, your game (like I said above) has no other color then black and grey. Thrust giving to effect of "No hope" to your mind. By doing so you get a more scared feeling when your play.

Unlike my game, where the is white and black... White soothes, black disturbs.
Ever been in a white room and felt cozy?
Yet your in the same room at night when the power is out, you don't feel so cozy now do you? No, your not sure whats going to happen next and that makes you uneasy.

And that my friend, is why your game has a darker atmosphere then mine.
