[Project " Asylum " Information.]
Project " Asylum " is a horror based sci-fi in the near future world, where you have no idea how you got there or why your there, your only goal and concern is to escape.
Its slightly based on "SCP Containment Breach" concept of being trapped inside a bunker and dodging ET and/or paranormal objects... However, it will NOT be SCP CB. Nor SCP related, it will be based on the same concept but follow another direction, a direction more to make the player become insane without causing any actual harm the user.
For example, you looked at a coffee cup.. Next thing you see is a "ghost" thats trying to kill you. Only YOU can see or be attacked by that ghost. No other player can see it, unless they looked at the same coffee cup, it will continue to "haunt" the player till he/she is dead.
You will eventually become insane to a point that you will not be able to tell if the object is real or fake.
But I can assure you that about 1/3 of the "paranormal(s)" will be visible and real to all players. While the other 2/3's will only be visible to you, some of then can kill you.. Other's will just toy with you.
[Game goals]
Survive as long as you can, avoid the paranormal's for as long as you can... Remember, they hunt you..
There is about 4 endings that I'll be adding to this game: Ending A is you escaping alive, you exit the bunker like complex into a forest or plain, not sure which one. Ending B is you dying, painfully. Ending C is your still trapped inside of the bunker.. But you find another way out through a portal on the wall that sucked you into another place.. Ending D is: you die and don't know what happens next, so everytime you die your getting to see Ending D
[What's all in this game?]
1.) Randomly generated maps, built to be like a large scale maze. 2.) Insanity, only you can see certain objects, certain events... Ghosts that aren't there.. Your get to the point that you can't tell whats real or fake... 3.) Paranormal's that can't move when you look at them, or kill you if you look at them, certain activity's will be triggered when you look at certain things. 4.) (RETRACTED). 5.) FPS action, visible arms, blinking (subject to change), direct-line-of-sight things that you can interact with. 6.) Opening/closing doors at random times. 7.) Dark atmosphere. 8.) (RETRACTED) 9.) Every 20 seconds someone will witness a paranormal activity somewhere on the map. 10.) Breakable objects such as glass and some doors. (Subject to change.) 11.) Sound effects for most paranormal(s). 12.) Multiple endings. 13.) Smashing (RETRACTED) and (RETRACTED).
[What makes this game unique?]
1-12 of above, + its the only game on roblox as of 3/5/13 that has a remotely scary atmosphere. (Next to my good friend PsychoWaffle.) And will continue to have that atmosphere throughout development. Its also the only game on roblox to have a line-of-sight triggering for certain objects, AI's and other stuff. And, one of the few games that will ever have multiple endings.
[When will this game be done?] Don't call me crazy, but I got till April 1st to get it done for school. So, April 1st 2013.

That's caused by a roblox glitch in physics and mouse.. To open/close a door hover your mouse over it, de-select the tool and click where the button is, then QUICKLY re-select the tool. This is a problem I'm trying to fix, might take sometime since I'm more focused on the other parts of the game, for now please just get used to having to do that.
Completely built and coded by GuestCapone. Yes guys, completely.
Just to clear some things up... No suggestions about SCP anything. No suggestions about slender man. No slendermans are in this game. This is not SCP Contentment Breach game, nor will it become one. This is not a Slender game. Absolutely no free models are going to be in the game, nor used. Game is Opensourced, but will be copylocked soon.

HAHAAHAHA, already have that in MY game. Only plays in studio.. Dang roblox. So, TOO LATE! ITS ALL MINE!!!
And Y2Kstudios is either an alt of a known game designer or has the same personality of him.
Either way Y2Kstudios is a very intelligent person. And yes, 2K I did know its "psychological horror" game, I just didn't know if the word "psychological" would be allowed on roblox... Just decided to play it safe.

Thanks, its just an extremely small thing compared to whats actually going to be in-game.
I've made progress on the maze generation part.. Just ugly looking though... Spawns a model on top of each other, causing it to "stack" and slightly offset each time a model spawns...
I have an extremely large amount of problem solving to do on this. |

Yours consists of rooms while mine, paths. ._.
I'm having trouble with mine, BUT, I know some innovative secrets like that one I showed you.
My maze generation is MUCH more difficult due to having paths instead of nice little boxes...
I have to do something to prevent 2 paths from overlapping causing unintended dead ends.
It's still possible, but if I can't get it to work, I will have to do the random map thing while I continue to experiment.
Also, since I have 6 different mazes, the mazes have to keep in a 2000x2000 stud box or else it will hit the other players' "territory".
I may just have a bunch of different maps... :l
But on yours, I could probably help with if you need help.

Amen!. Waffle I like to call those rooms "Cells" Makes it sound better... + After I can get the random maze gener thingy to work.. I'll then be able to script in doors and traps. Just got to get the script working. |

(Not uploaded YET) [Alpha] Update V 1.0.5
Created a new AI, he will only follow you AFTER you look at him. He is "followed" by a dark toxic cloud, that if you in it or very close to it, your take damage.
Changed the white AI (Bob) walkspeed to 80 to make him "teleport" when your not looking directly at him.
Changed the Slender man looking AI's speed to 80, working on a teleporting script for this guy.
Changed my idea on the maze... Putting this part off till the end..
Reduced Player Walkspeed to 6 for more realistic walking, and making it near impossible to run away.
Changed the toxic cloud AI (Naming him "Steve") cloud texture to black. Added a face to this guy, only notice able at close ranges Changed walk speed to 7.
Moved the "Coffin" to a black stone lined room, fits it more.. Added the first ever.. Breakable glass to the game, added glass breaking sound
(With TheDestroyer something 's help) I fixed the spawning problem, I think.
Working on a small easter egg, also a de-scarier/relaxer, this is a small little object you will randomly find somewhere in the map.. Once you find it, (you can only use once) your be given a message saying "Ah, Stay alive, stay stay stay alllllllllllllllive" and a small short roblox uploaded song would play (it would only last for 10secs) and then some paranormal activity will happen, scaring the player.. (Or making the player jump.) This MAY or MAY NOT be uploaded due to the idea its based off of..

(Uploaded) [Alpha] Update V 1.0.5

Easter egg and breakable glass are not yet implanted into the game. Breakable glass is found in the studio copy, it is however disappearing when the game starts. It is unknown why this happens.

[BEFORE YOU PLAY READ THIS] To open a door, look at the button. Deselect the tool Click Reselect the tool
Also remember the AI's will follow you if you don't look at them.. Have fun testing.

I feel like this game doesn't touch on the area of the "Super-Into-Horror-Gamers", such as I. There are a few things I'd like to come to. -I believe getting the gui/tool to open and close doors things fixed first. If you can't fix it, creating the game will be utterly pointless as you will lose the values of the game by trying to figure out a way around it. -You say that it's got nothing to do with SCP. Just about everything I've seen in the game was some sort of asset from SCP. The doors, the switches, the walls, just about all of it. -I'd like to say something about the story line. There's got to be a reason for your psychological problem. If you look at a cup of coffee and something happens, it'll be pretty lame if there was no reason behind it. I'm pretty sure that I won't ever look at a cup of coffee and see ghosts then if I were to go see a clown in a mirror. That DOES need to be fixed, but its a very odd thing with roblox, parts inside of the player doesn't interact with physics yet they interact with the mouse. (Its a raycasting thing causing the door-tool problem.)

The doors,wall,floor textures will not be SCP in a week, I'm currently working on a few textures for the wall,floor and doors. Also, the AI's are a bit SCP related yes. But so what? Or will it be sort of GUI based? A.) It's both, there is a such thing called "local parts" where if you parent a part to the player's camera, only that player can see the part. So basically, only I can see the ghost, and no one else can..

That is true, but since you can't upload custom sounds anymore... Its going to have to do, I've been working on an idea but having to put it off due to AI related problems... It was a mixture of sounds randomly going off to give a more of a chiller effect... Only problem I ran into this, is that mixing the sounds is almost impossible if you don't got hours on end to test and edit till you fixed it. I also prefer the word "dramatic" over epic... "dramatic" is more professional and leaves a much more impact on the player then "epic". Lots of work, I know. Hope this answered some of your questions.

Material Update Created a Sheetrock/Concrete looking texture for the wall, problem is... its 2000x2000 and is about 4MB in size, and looks REALLY bad in roblox quality... So having to re-make it but in a smaller sizw. No the resize image button doesn't work... just loses all of its detail.
