I mean come on. The command bar cannot execute protected methods anymore. So now Plugins are isolated and can't do anything anymore. Thanks ROBLOX for destroying creativity as we know it.
There are absolutely no upsides to the new studio. None.
I'm sticking with 1.0. |

Last I checked, we could all use protected methods just fine. What methods are you trying to use? |

Whine about something that's actually constructive, will you? For example, the broken Camera object. Or how horrible the sequencing is for scripts. |

| The camera isn't broken, NVI, you just don't understand how to use it. |

Both studio 1.0 and the new one are broken. Any changes to scripts during testing in studio will result in the reset button not changing those back. Deleted scripts fail to come back.
This is awful functionality. |

@ArceusInator
I know how to use it, and it is broken. Even Stravant agrees, and he tells me it's on the list to be rewritten.
So if you really don't think it's broken, you need to work on your understanding of game programming. |

Direct quote from Stravant over gmail:
"15. All the camera control is non-ideal. The whole thing really needs a rework rather than adding more hacks" |

Ignoring your lack of credible citations, I agree that the camera functionality is terribad. I don't like to bring attention to people attempting to derail conversations, but you're blatantly deviating from the topic I brought up.
I find it difficult to accept the fact that I made a stable and portable top-down camera system on my first try while you apparently couldn't do it with all your knowledge of roblox's API, so I'm questioning the most likely problem (which is a lack of knowledge). Until you cite an actual unsolvable bug/error, I'm going to continue believing that you just aren't as experienced as you think you are. You can help the situation and enlighten everyone involved by explaining your problem in detail and posting relevant code so I can attempt to prove that you either have no idea what you're doing or you've actually found a legitimate bug. |

You can contradict me all you want, but you can't deny that your "stable" camera system is still incredibly hit-or-miss. You just got lucky.
The simple fact is that Roblox's sequencing doesn't line up very well. It's a common problem - physics runs at 30 FPS, rendering runs at 60 FPS, it's normal. But there's no way to execute code during a physics update or rendering update specifically, so you can't have a guarantee on just when your camera is going to move. The player might move for two frames before your camera even updates.
RunService's Stepped event seems to alleviate this problem for the most part, but it's still not perfect, and even using it, the ugly problem comes back.
Don't call my citations incredible, either. Stravant can confirm that he said that, as he has the chat log as well. Thanks, have a great day. |

| Also, further testing reveals that I was indeed correct about RunService::Stepped. It works in solo, but not online. |

| In fact, the only way it works online is if it's a player's character. Not surprising, considering humanoids get special processing. So it's a hack piled on top of a hack. Not very useful considering you can't make games that aren't based on humanoids because of this. My point is made. |

"You just got lucky."
Yeah, I wish roblox used a logic-based API instead of a luck-based one. Oh wait.
"humanoids get special processing"
Did you try putting a localscript inside the character with "_G.RSStepped = game:GetService("RunService").Stepped" and then using _G.RSStepped from a playergui localscript? |

"Yeah, I wish roblox used a logic-based API instead of a luck-based one. Oh wait." i see where you are coming from but are you sure its not robloxs fault for messing something up? NVIs created stuff like this before without any problems
- nevermind because garnished isnt leaving even though he made a thread about him leaving |

If that were true, he wouldn't be having this problem now because he would be able to look at his past projects and find where he went wrong. |

Actually, NVI has been doing better here recently.
Frankly, he only attacks people when provoked, and given the heat of the argument I would get angry too.
It's the fault of both sides, to win the battle you must first make friends... That or just kill the opposition, but let's face it, we're not all Mr. S. |
