First off; "I'm Ba~ck! Didja miss me?"
Anyways...
Moderators, Developers, and other people in positions of virtual power, I request this of you: A location in-which Parent-accounts may view all specific words (In their non-corrupted, original format. Meaning; without the addition of numbers or symbols.).
Why? Dear ma'am or sir, the reason is quite simple. For those of us here in S&I who post threads of greater than 14,000 characters and/or 3,000 words to be able to either (a) more easily proof our works, or (b) have our parents be capable of proofing our works.
I can not even begin to count the number of times I myself have had one specific post blocked; nor the equal number of times I have proofread it to attempt to find out what, exactly, is causing it to become blocked.
A small idea like this that is either parent-account only or 18*-yo only could go a long way towards proofing; especially with today's "Find" feature on various programs (Such as Ctrl-F for Google chrome, or Comodo, possibly other browsers.)
I hope you read and consider this small idea. A reply could also go a ways towards further proofing or explaining this where need be.
*- This is a "base" age; it can be raised or lowered depending on your views. |

Eh.. you're asking that we should be able to see what was blocked in our posts, or that we should be able to get our parents to look over what we posted and find out why it was blocked?
The second idea is inefficient, and I don't think anyone really wants to let their parents read what they're posting on the forums.
I think it's a better idea for the system to show you what's filtered in your post.
For now, what I do when this happens, is I invite someone to a party chat, and I copy and paste chunks of the text I posted until I get a pop up that says "Moderated Message." This means something in there was filtered. Then I break that chunk down even further, until I can narrow it down to one word or group of words that is blocked. |

Total support. I wish it would say what it blocked AND I know my parents like to see what I'm doing so, the second thing might be useful! SUPPORT!

Recruit; I was meaning the second, but with; again, the side note of being either 18 or older; or at an age that the ROBLOX admins feel is sufficient to see words that are absolutely not to be said/against the filter. This in itself would already be a good way to make proofing more efficient. A way that underlines words from the filter, would, after thinking about it pose all the same filter-break risks as this, but I see no reason why that couldn't be a secondary part of it.
Say; a portion of the site to show what you can't say, and then the underline -Or other form of notification. Perhaps it defining what word was used in the pop-up notification of it being moderated?- come up if you forgot and tried posting something with it? |
