(Contest lasted: February 25th - March 2nd.) (Contest vote lasts: March 3rd - 6th.) (Results announced: March 7th.)
As you all are probably aware, for about a week now we've been having a contest for people to submit ideas and suggestions for a new group PBS (Private Build Server), the winner getting admin at the PBS and first pick at where to start building, and we sure got a lot of responses! With almost 30 suggestions, this has by far been a success! But, with submissions now closed comes the next step, this is where YOU, the person who will no doubt be playing at this server (it’s OK if you don’t plan on playing much, as a member your input is still welcomed and valued), vote on what the server will be!
The following list is, clearly, not 30 suggestions. We've removed repeats, we've tried to weed out ideas that just don’t really have much if any sci-fi themes to it (remember that Sci-Fi isn't just aliens and space, but there are some thin lines between Fantasy we try to avoid crossing and some genre's are technically sub-genre's of Sci-Fi), and some less possible ideas have been weeded out as well. We apologize if you don’t see your idea on here, they were all great!
PLEASE VOTE BELOW USING THE FOLLOWING FORMAT:
First Pick: Second Pick: Third Pick:
CHOICES: 1 - MasterDarthWaffle's space PBS (basically a ton of planets with fair variety; www.roblox.com/Galactic-Domination-II-place?id=84671159) 2 - 31st Century Earth (some system planets could be added to the side of world map to account for space activity, probably not other systems) 3 - Variety of Biomes (basically, a ton of environments, even more unusual ones such as mercury seas or what not) 4 - Post-Apocalyptic Earth (or alien world) 5 - Refugees from a destroyed planet 6 - Star Trek 7 - Supernatural/Paranormal (Mutants, myths/legends, aliens, so on and so forth) 8 - Futuristic Medieval (Future-themed castles and what have you) 9 - Steampunk (Probably just be a map with some fair variety of terrain, no doubt some floating islands because who needs gravity?) |

| You know..? If we used the first one, wouldn't everyone be able use their ideas on their planet? So the person who wants a steam punk themed PBS could have a steam punk society and te person who wants mystical lands or whatever can have that and so on and so forth. |

@Persuas:
Perhaps, there's some things that can't be done and it's a different experience than most of the other ideas.
I will point out that option #1 is in the lead (with total votes, the leading first pick is option #2) anyways. |

| I chose 1 as a last hope because I can't lose. I can still claim a planet and build steam punk or modern. |

The vote is here by officially over, we thank all members not only for their awesome submissions but for taking the time to vote!
Now comes the fun part... Figuring out which option won!
[WHY THREE?]
With this vote, I chose to ask for your top three (*glares at titanic23456*) for a particular reason: options. There's three ways I can count your votes:
-I can go off of which of your first choices has the most votes (which is option #2); -I can go off of which option got the most overall votes (which is option #1); -Or, I can go with an Instant Run-Off type style, in which case option #2 wins.
This said, it comes down to simply two options: 31st century Earth (option #2) or MasterDarthWaffle's PBS (option #1). So... Why not both?
[RESULTS]
Seeing as only two options (#1 and #2) present themselves as popular choices, both in their own right coming out on top, I have decided to go with both.
-The first PBS to go up will be #1, seeing as it is already complete and may only require some slight modifications before being put up.
-The second PBS will take time to put together (I'd like to make my own map, it won't match modern Earth entirely so as to adjust for climate change and humanities impact on the terrain) and would ideally be ready to launch when the first PBS is beginning to lose its steam (as most usually do), which will no doubt be AT LEAST several weeks. |
