(If you know me from Canyon/the airline industry, cool. Also, this is my first attempt at an RP on this thread for a while. My past ones have failed. I'm going to hope this one doesn't die out. Also, excuse me if I'm inaccurate with times.)
STORY: The year is 1962. You are a resident in the village of Tối Tăm in the mountains of central Vietnam. Over the past 10 years, you've watched your country slowly fall to civil war. An army from the north is neck-to-neck with forces in the south. Many countries are getting involved with this, including the United States. A few people have moved away from your town due to the war. You and the remaining villagers have decided to stay, although most of your friends had moved. "What could possibly happen? War will never find us here in these mountains," the village's leader explains. How wrong he was... One morning, you wake up and get stung by a mosquito as you do every day. After taking a bath in a nearby river, you dress and go fishing on the river's bank. Everything is eerily quiet throughout the village. Then, you hear something. It sounds like a humming sound. The sound starts low at first, but then it gets very loud a few seconds later. You notice a giant shadow covering the village. Looking up, you see 5 giant bomber planes flying right above. You notice American flags painted under their wings. They then pass by and drone off to the distance loudly. Just a few minutes after the bombers pass you, you hear another sound. It's just like the one the bombers made, but it hurts your ears much more. More shadows zoom across the village. You look up again. This time they are American fighter jets- at least 10 of them! Your hands quiver with fear when one of the fighters fires a missile from its wing, and then you hear an explosion. Turning to the direction of that explosion, you see another fighter. This one isn't American. With flames coming out of its wings, it crashes into the ground. You go ahead and face the truth. The war has arrived.

As I said in the godmodding thing, I'm the only person who can control events 7) No creating your own role. Only use the roles provided in the CS below

[CHARACTERS]--- Name: Henry Dem (Youth, middle-age, adult, or elder) - Early Middle Age
Role: American Soldier.
Bio: The Plane came to a slow, steady halt as Henry checked his bag for what seemed to be the hundredth time. How the hell did he get into this? He asked him this daily, starting at boot-camp it was a small, then the question beat into his sleep, 'momma, dadda. I don't wanna die!' his dreams called out this. A man walked in, a Major, old and gray. "Welcome to the jungle boys, and, enjoy your stay"
Years previous, a man knocked on the door to the families small 4 room apartment in uptown Brooklyn. It was a major, similar to the one then, and with a gruff voice he told the women that her son was selected to serve; dinner was eatten in silence. He talked of leaving, but his dad dragged him to the buses where he met the man next to him now; John, Tall John. Both were recent drop-outs, day workers; both were black, one with a white's name. Both left school, and the both were sent to hell... (I am happy to see a non-world war 2 RP) |

Name: Chris Age area: Youth Role: Soviet Soldier Bio: Chris was born in California, U.S.A. He lived there for two years of his life, but then moved to Soviet Russia. When the war arrived, there were some American soldiers positioned in the city his home was, Moscow. They killed his parents when he was 16, and that fueled hatred of the American and South Korean forces. He applied for the military two years later, and got accepted. Days after, he was deployed near Tối Tăm with some other soldiers. |

| (Fun fact about myself. Ever since I was 5, I've been interested in the Vietnam War, but never had time to study it. I could only start watching things about it about three years ago, and I haven't seen many in that amount of time.) |

(Let's go begin c:)
A newsreel from Vietnam's top news channel reports:
"A Russian-made MiG-15 from the North was shot down today near the village of Toi Tam. The pilot has been missing since and may be hiding in the village itself among the population there. American soldiers have been deployed to the village in order to search for the pilot, identified as So Than Khop.
Meanwhile, American forces are moving into the city of Non Than, in close proximity to Toi Tam, to use it as their base of operations in central Vietnam. It is reported that 25% of the U.S. soldiers deployed in the central mountains are stationed in Toi Tam, while the other 75% are in Non Than.
The soldiers from the South are currently assisting the US forces in Non Than. They are patrolling with the American soldiers and assisting in daily raids on suspected Northern soldier hideouts."
AMERICAN SOLDIERS: A U.S. army transport truck with a canopy arrives at Hun Thak Airstrip, where the American planes have landed. There is a Colonel inside with aviator sunglasses. He explains to you:
"'Alright, boys. This jeep is headed for Non Than, where our headquarters of operations is located. It's your choice. You can either wait for the next jeep going to the village of Toi Tam or go on this one."
SOUTH VIETNAMESE SOLDIERS: You are in Non Than. Like a normal day, the streets are packed with merchants and citizens going about their daily business. After a very hot day patrolling, you notice a restaurant close to where you are. You can go in there if you wish.
SOVIET SOLDIERS: The North has set up a camp near Non Than. There, you and a commander are planning attacks on the Southern and U.S. troops. "How about a bombing? It doesn't require as many personnel, and we can remain anonymous. They'll never know it's us." Anxious to be allowed to answer, you patiently sit on the rug laid out for you, the commander, and other troops. |

"Wait till Dritvu hears this one..." Nikolai mummers as he sits in a abandoned hut." Why must Capitalist*small grunt*pigs stop our rightful cause?..." Nikolai finishes wrapping part of his shirt on a bloodied cut in his leg."I least I know enough Vietnamese to find my way back..."
*Question: What do you mean by 'So Than Khop'? I know Nikolai is wounded in a abandoned hut near Toi Tam. |

Chris' eyes filled with tears after he thought about his parents, and his life. He also thought about the horrible things he said to them.
'I HATE YOU! I WISH YOU WERE DEAD!' Chris yelled at them, after they denied him his request for an M1911. He knew he overreacted, but now, after remembering that, he remembered the next thing.
'Kid, get out.'
'Gladly.'
After Chris walked out of the living room, he heard two gunshots. He ran in, and saw his parents dead, bullet holes through their heads. He then noticed a knife in his father's left eye. He cried for hours. He continued believing his parents were alive, and would heal. After a day or so, he knew they were dead. He cried loud enough to make a man deaf, and his neighbours heard. They ran in, and saw why. They had to grab him by his arms and get some lumberjacks to help bring him to a mental hospital so he could heal.
After two years, he joined the Soviet military, hoping to kill the two men who killed his parents. And now, here he is.
"Keep it together, Exodus.. Keep it together.. Keep it together, man..." Chris muttered to himself.
He wiped the tears from his eyes, and walked into a hut, only to find a fellow soldier.
"Sorry, I'll go to another.."
Chris walked out, and headed to another hut, and saw that it was abandoned. He locked the door and started bauling.
"I miss you, mom and dad! Please... COME BACK!" Chris yelled while crying.
Images of his past flowed through his mind, and that made him cry even more. He couldn't stop. |

| Nikolai just blankly looks around. A wooden table, a rotting fish, and a straw hat."...Why did I bother?..." Nikolai rolls his eyes at the total lack of useful items in the room. He pulls out his pistol."Still got enough rounds..." |

| Chris stopped crying after ten minutes, and tried to act like an actual soldier. He faked seriousness and lack of pain. He picked up his M1 Carbine, came out, and sat on the steps of the hut. He got up after about five minutes of staring into space, and left the village for a little walk, and noticed an M-14 with a bipod and suppressor. He picked it up and, luckily, carried ammo for it. He fired a couple test shots and saw that it fired pretty efficiently. He replaced his Carbine with the M-14 as his primary weapon. |

I look at the line, some hands raised; not a whole lot of people wanted to get close to the fighting, and well; I wanted to save them the trouble. I stepped forward, gulping down a steaming soak of saliva down my dry throat.
The next moments were of the CO saying, "God bless," as we boarded the compact jeeps to a place miles away. The thing I noticed was the artillery, the boom could be heard, and it sent a shiver down my spine that not God was going to be near there. |

Chris went to the outskirts of the village, and looked off in the distance. He saw a lone South Vietnamese soldier. He picked him off, and went back in the village.
"God... Let us win this fight.. Let us all survive.. Please..." Chris prayed.
He put his M-14 into guard position, and walked to the center of Toi Tam. He lied down, and slowly drifted into sleep. He had a terrible nightmare; He relived the death of his parents, this time tied down, watching them die. They were stabbed in every part of their body, bullets were shot in their non-vital areas, and they were tortured. Then, he was next. |

Chris quickly rose, as if the top half of him flew at sonic speed. He was sweating, breathing at a shaky and slow pace.
"What the hell.. Damn, I need to move on.. But.. I don't know how..."
Chris got up, and was on full guard. His senses were at their peak. |

We drove what seemed like forever, everyone was in silence; we know what we were in for, long hours, low pay, and death. "So..." I man spoke, he was black in appearance, but spoke as if was a Southern plantation holder, "What exactly is this place we are going to?" "Good question," The Filipino driver spoke, "Non Than" "I know that, but what the hell are we doing there?" The driver was silent, he could not answer that, only Brass really knew what it was for. and well none of us were brass. A moment or so of silence passed before a gruff voice of a white man, possibly a Sargent, it looked like that because he was older then the rest of us, and had that look that he has saw some things, "Because," He spoke clearly, "The boys up the chain want us there, and by hell we are going to listen to them. Is that a problem." "No sir," Everyone instinctively replied. "Good." |
