All rated M games should be only for 17 or older ONLY.
Everybody is so worried about FPS games effecting our young but, they never thought of making M games for 17 or older ONLY. |

Against this 100%. Studies have yet to turn up any valid leads between violent video games and violent behavior, except those with pre-existing mental health concerns. Also, what about the responsible under-17s that enjoy M-rated? Have you ever thought that (despite it being a law) parents won't follow it, and still get their kid what he/she wants?

| would this mean all ratings are legally bound? (meaning the rating is required by law to follow) |

| My parents look at the ratings and honestly don't care. They know I won't be affected by the game. It's just a game, made for entertainment. |

| I honestly think the online should be restricted more heavily. That's where all the problems are. Making kids dumb everywhere. |

| It wouldn't matter if laws were placed, parents would just go out of their way and buy it for them if they let their kid pester them so much. And as other people on this forum have said, there is no scientific evidence from past and recent studies that violent video games affect the psyche of the average kid. |

No. The point of ratings are to WARN players and parent/guardians about what there might be in a game. Kids still play games above their age group and their parents don't mind it. I believe that if a child isn't afraid of the content within the game, then so be it. -- Frosty! |

I think he was more referring to a possible violent mentality linked through the video game exposure at an early age, but that's complete BS anyways. |

@ford Don't be afraid of the whole "mental affects" thing that was said. There is no evidence to support such a thing. If it truly did affect kids in such a way it made them all psychopathic murderers, then a majority of America would be in harms way due to the fact that if were to walk into any house at random, Its a high possibility that you would find some sort of gaming device with at least one violent game. |

| It's a parents' choice whether they want their children to be playing certain games. They're (usually) responsible enough to decide. |
