| If someone goes to the past and succeeds, then they will have never had a reason to travel back in time, so the event would happen, so then they WOULD have a reason, then they would prevent it again, and this process would repeat over and over again, thus completely screwing up the timeline. |

| To avoid a major paradox that causes them to disappear from existence since we would mass produce the item and he's actions could cause catastrophic results in the process. |

If time travel worked and we found our way through a few time paradoxes, then the best thing to do would be to teach the people of the past, the technology of today.
