This is something I just thought up of, bear with me.
Laughter is the brain's reaction to the unexpected. Imagine some woods, after your brain stomps a trail through the woods, it will think that when somebody walks halfway along the trail, he/she will walk along the trail for the other leg of the trip. This is like when telling a joke, it's usually about a certain topic you've heard of, let's say, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" Your brain will think that he/she will say then, "To get to the other side" But then let's say he/she says, "To GET TO THA CHOPPAH!!!" your brain wasn't (supposed to) expect that, so its reaction is to laugh.
This also explains why babies laugh all the time. Because their brain have experienced so little, everything will be unexpected.
I'm probbly wrong on this...Lol.
