Intro:
A Raven lands on the floor in front of you. It has a note tied to it's leg. You open it up, and you are shocked.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM: KING HIRALDO OF URANGI URGENT.
COME TO PALACE IN NIGIA MOUNTAINSIDE, THARIA.
THE WIZARD'S ORDER OF JAREIM CHOOSES YOU.
ATTEND ON THE THIRTEENTH DAY OF THE TENTH MONTH.
COME NOW OR BE EXILED TO THE ETERNAL WATERS OF DAMNATION. ~~~ Races:
Human- Often referred to as the bald apes by other races, they cannot use magic nor see when magic is being used. They live about 50 years, because of their poor lives. They are a relatively new race, who's charisma almost matches the Elves. They are much like their ancestors, and are not the most intelligent of folk, but what they lack in intelligence, they make up for in willpower. Their surprisingly short lives give them drive and ambition not found in the other, longer lived races.
Elves- Mighty tall creatures of old, they use magic frequently, but live in broken harmony, with many wars between the flying nations. To disguise with the sky, they are very pale, with blond hair and blue eyes. These high spirited (No pun intended) creatures are very anti-social with the other races, and live in hiding among the mountains. They are extremely charismatic, intelligent, wise, and stealthy, but they lack in will and strength.
(Sub-race) Low Elves- They live in towns on the ground such as Humans and Dwarves, but do not mistake them for another race. They can be quite violent, and will kill at a moment's notice. They have more brown a skin, and are swift and nimble.
(Sub-race) Pure Elves- They live royally among the mountains, but are not like the Low Elves in their violence nor living style, for they live in mighty kingdoms. The Pure Elves are not as smart as the Low ones, but twice as wise. They are much taller than all Elves, and richer and more greedy too.
Dwarves- They are short round beings, of mighty brawn and bulk. They share many similarities with the Elves of Low, but would never refuse a pleasant drink (or fight) with a stranger. Working mostly as builders and miners, these efficient beings like to lug around, and eat much. They are not very charismatic, nor smart nor wise, but they are very very strong with a willpower matched by no other.
Goblins- (Non-playable) These beasts live in the dark corners of the Earth, preying on whatever comes their way, like Dwarves, Elves, and even other Goblins. They are extremely strong, more than the Dwarves, but yet are so incredibly uncharismatic, I should no longer describe their appearance. They are very unintelligent and very unwise, which makes them very stubborn and brutish. They aren't very stealthy at all, but they cause great fear in the heart of their prey. They have very very limited magic use, which just goes down to lighting a small fire.
Half-Elves- Sometimes, in rare occasions, Elves marry Humans or Dwarves. The result is more like an Elf than Human, with greater intelligence, less strength, less will, and great charisma surpassing all other races.
Cross-Men- Whenever there are Dwarves and Humans in the same town, there will be Cross-Men. With the height, strength, and nearing the Charisma of Humans, They seem like Dwarves in a Human's body. These buggers, however, are quick with their hands, making master thieves. They are also astonishingly great wizards, with Magic greater than the High Elves.
Halflings- Halflings are intelligent and wise, but are weak and small. They are blessed with incredible luck, and can hide away easily. Being the oldest race, and one of the rarest sentient ones, they are rarely seen in person, but are common in stories. Many say they are related to Man, although they have remarkable instincts and have been fabled to use magic. They are almost as charismatic as the Humans, although only three feet tall.
Exeli- An extremely rare cross-breed of Dwarves and Halflings, they are very short. They live very few years, and approach Maturity at the age of twelve. They have limited Magic use, but have good luck, although not as much as their Halfling parent. They are very rare, as many Halflings do not even share the same regions as Dwarves, and if they did, it would mostly be Dwarves men, and Halfling women. They are, however, stronger than Halflings and a tiny bit taller. (Please, ask before making an Exeli.) ~~~ Relgions:
Abiogenesis- These people believe that they were born naturally, with no real creator.
Agnostic- These people can't really decide what their creator was.
Magika- These people believe that magic created the world, and everything in it. When people die in honor, they go to eternal peace. When they do not, they are banished to a boat on eternal waters of damnation, where there is always a storm.
The Religion of Man- These people believe that there is one being, in the shape of Humans, that created the Humans first in his image, and made the other creatures to interact with them. When Humans die, they either go to eternal happiness and peace, a long, grueling punishment in order to go to the realm of Peace, or eternal torture.
The Religion of Chaos- These people believe that there is a creator, but he is hellbent on complete Chaos with no Order. When believers die, they are sent to a realm with all the hardship of life, but no real excruciating torture.
The Broken God- These people believe that there is a creator, who died and all of his knowledge was put into a book that was torn and thrown across the world. These pages soon became the many races. When true believers die, they are set to eternal happiness. ~~~ Towns and Cities:
West Borough- A Small farming town, the people are hospitable and always welcoming strangers. The town is mostly Dwarven, although there are a few Humans. The town is rarely put on maps that do not focus on the area.
Urangi- A gigantic metropolis, it is a mishmash of Dwarven, Human, and Elvish Cultures from across the land. It has a bustling economy, but a huge crime problem and several corrupt policemen. The population is actually mostly made of Half-Elves (Dwarven and Human) and Cross-Men.
Engari- A section of High Elf Kingdoms in the Hirum Mountains, They have strict guards that allow only registered citizens to enter. Crime is nonexistent, but the citizens are self-centered prudes who have never worked a day in their lives.
Halloma- The first location of any Human civilization, The people there are mostly Human, with some Low Elves and a small amount of immigrant Cross-Men. They are welcome of visitors, but the veterans of the war are suspicious of anyone.
Tharia- A city made of stone, and half of it in a mountainside, it is the Dwarven homeland. Strangely, The population is about equal parts Elves, Dwarves, and Dwarven Half-Elves.
Jairia- An island which was recently discovered nearby the coast of Halloma, there are brown-skinned humans with very little language skills but high wisdom and charm. They have a city that is made of many wooden buildings, and actually has an easier time with crime than almost all other cities.
Thalmiad- A small farmtown dominated by Halflings, there are a few Low Elf citizens. The population is small, much like the Halfling population of today.
There are other cities and towns you may run across that will be described then. ~~~ Languages:
A language called Zilani (created by humans) is used by Low Elves, Halflings, Dwarves, Humans, and their cross-species.
A language called Thiria is used by the natives of Jairia.
A language called Ritari is spoken by most all the High Elves and a few of the Low Elves.
(When you hear English in the RP, it is actually Latin.) ~~~ Magic Using:
For the sake of the RP, if you are a spell-caster, Just know what spell you are using and read the name. ~~~ Character Statting:
When you begin, stats will be given to you based on your bio, ag.e, and race. Later in the game, when you level up, you can stat out your character, but we'll get to that soon. ~~~ Stat Rolls:
Basically, when you enhance a stat, you have a smaller margin of error for rolling. Example:
Bobby the Elf casts "Stupify" His stats for casting it: 10.
Path 1: He rolls a 14! He fails by four. The Game Master will decide what happens.
Path 2: He rolls an 9! He succeeds by one. This means he casts the spell. ~~~ Battles:
Battles will be fought like GURPS battles, where rolling a three is a critical hit, and rolling an eighteen is a critical failure. Rolls will be made for defense and damage dealt also. ~~~ Luck Rolls:
Some Characters can take luck rolls, which are rolls to determine if you are able to reroll a shot. However, all characters have a limited amount of Luck Rolls per day. ~~~ Character Sheet: Name: A.Ge: (27+) Race: Religion: Hometown: Specialties: Bio: (Please, If you want some extra Lore, ask for it.) (Make this 5+ sentences.) ~~~ Example CS (Not going to be used.): Name: Naimor Thalomir A.Ge: 96 Race: Low Elf Appearance: Of average height, he looks about the same as a fourty-year old of his immortal race. With Tan skin, he is covered in battle scars, mostly from the Halgoff wars. He has blue eyes, and long, curled, blonde hair. He stands on a thick frame, with large muscles he got in a war prison. He wears blood-stained leather armor, with a dear skull on one shoulder and a fur-lined hood. Under that, he wears a tarnished green tunic, with several pockets. On his feet, there are hide shoes, and on his head sits a Human hat, much like the Hamburg of today, only with a wider brim and rounder top. Religion: He is Agnostic. Hometown: Urangi Specialties: An experienced hunter, he is a master of axes and crossbows. Bio: As a young boy, his father, the person who made the money for the family, died. Being alone with his heart-broken sick mother, he learned to hunt to provide for the both of them. When he turned twenty, he made a deal with the local Military that if he fought in the Halgoff Wars, they would take care of his mother. He couldn't turn this down. So, when the war ended, he returnede to his now healed Mother. He had decided that it was time for her to leave her to a new life, as she had recently met a Man who cared for her, and she loved. Ever since, he's been a policeman of Urangi, Keeping to himself. Other Characteristics: Although he is only 96, he hasn't much strength and has lost his skills with a bow. |
