Does anyone here have any theories on what causes lost connections in ROBLOX games? I've experimented with a lot of things that seem logical to me, but to no avail. I would appreciate any help.
If anyone can come up with a viable problem that causes connection loss that also proves to work I will give them 100,000 R$. |

On your popular account, release a testing place with the first version of Deadzone reported to be crashing.
Then, remove features and fix bugs their loss causes slowly and mark each one. When testers say no issues with crashing, you have found the problem and you will probably know how to fix it.
I would probably think this was something to do with Camera manipulation and doesn't your game completely control the camera? I've heard some Mac users have issues with setting certain properties or calling certain functions on the Camera.
Unfortunately, it's unlikely any one of us will coincidentally mention the exact thing that is wrong with your game. Unfortunately for us any you, but it does mean you keep 10k Robux. |

I'll vouch for ZachZak, that's definitely his account. And here is my application for connection loss...
1) Your have a really long string (Scripts included). - This will effectively crash your game, forcing disconnects throughout the whole game when it's replicated.
Viable Problem: You are somehow creating a string that is really long, and ROBLOX doesn't like it.
Viable Solution: Break up the string (May it be a script, etc.)
2) It's a problem with the weld system. - Clearly ROBLOX dislikes animations, it'll crash if you try to create them when it's not global, and welds were never the safest thing. If you're doing something it considers impossible, it will mostly likely conk out and decide to quit.
Viable Problem: Your custom animation system makes everyone cringe, including ROBLOX's game engine
Viable Solution: Remove the animations or attempt to debug them (Especially in replication from local to global points)
Viable Solution 2: Use Motor6Ds for animations. |

| Motor6Ds are good for animation if you want only your client to see them, but if you want other people to see them it'll just look like a glitchy mess. |

| I thought it was possible to fix that by reparenting the weld to nil and back to it's former parent every frame of the animation. |

No, but, seriously, I've made a place lag before with no loops running. Threads can be a major problem, along with strings and animations. When you have everyone moving stuff, which you probably put in CurrentCamera, it can cause a lot of camera. Whoever said use Motor6D to fix this is possible right. I have no idea as I haven't entered into the wonderful realm of Motor6D but it is a possibility. One more thing also; I've heard from friend scripters that too many GUIs can cause lag. I have no idea how many GUIs you have or even if that rumor is somewhat true but I've just heard.
