The PS4 is coming out later this year, and the Xbox 720 is rumored that the release date will be released in E3 this year in June. Nearly all of the fans of these consoles are probably going to buy them (Including me) and I was going over some of the earlier flaws of the PS3 and the Xbox 360.
The Xbox 360's flaws: 1)"General Hardware Failure" errors (red ring of death basically) 2)Scratched discs, AKA: Kassa’s investigation.
The PS3 has it's flaws just like the Xbox 360, such as: 1) Online functions can seem a bit lacking, however they are free and you get more if you go for PSN GOLD which costs money. Online play and stores etc are available free, however. 2) Patches and updates every once in a while can take pretty long.
Most of these problems were at the very start of the production of these consoles and now you don't really hear of these anymore to be totally honest, But will the PS4 and Xbox 720 go through these problems at the start? And will it be better to buy the new consoles a little later than the rest? As much as I can say wait a while to see if there's a problem with the hardware, I would also say 'Get yourself over to (Whatever gaming shop is in your region)'
So....PS4 or Xbox 720? Or Both (Like me) :D

I guess you chose the one with free online :P
The Xbox isn't fully 'broken' like the Mattel Hyperscan (Or many other failed consoles) but it does have flaws.
Hopefully they will sort the Xbox's Flaws in the 720, If they don't and (there's a chance they probably won't), they probably will give updates that are only provided with a Live account that will more likely be paid for, What will probably be like the Xbox 360's 'point' system. The Xbox 720 is supposed to have more than 5 new built in features that look pretty interesting: - 3D playable - Blu-Ray - Cloud-gaming (One of the main features) - New interfaces, Faster engine - Improved Kinect
some interesting features that will be on the Xbox 720: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/features/game/3372097/xbox-720-release-date-price-specs-round-up/
But it will be interesting to see the PS4 I have to admit.Especially for the online modes.

Pc is equally as good as consoles, depending on the games you're after I guess.

| I've had my xbox for 5 years too, and it doesn't need to be taken care of, it just doesn't need to be neglected. |

The next Xbox was actually leaked by Microsoft in some of their 'messages' http://www.slashgear.com/microsoft-xbox-720-specs-leak-8-core-cpu-and-8gb-of-ram-21266087/ |

I've never had any Xbox errors. They got rid of most of the RRoD problems with the 360S. I assume the 720/whatever will be just as clean.

Both of them are using outdated tech.
I MIGHT buy a PS4 IF it allows used games. |

With the Wii U and the Vita they had the problem of having a lackluster of release-day or near release titles to support themselves, or the title worked better on another console, which is why they're not doing so well. The Xbox 720 will still have to come up with a decent array of release titles but with the dedicated fan base they might be able to take it with a little bit of a more loose approach.
That's just my insight though. |
