1) solve x^2 + 4 = 0 for x
2) solve 4(x - 3) = 2(5 + 2x) for x
3) the curve C has equation xy = 1/2
the tangents to C at the distinct points P(p, 1/(2p)) and Q(q, 1(2q)), where p and q are positive, intersect at T and the normals to C at these points intersect at N
show that T is the point (2pq/(p+q), 1/(p+q))

2) solve 4x - 12 = 10 + 4x for x No real answers, 12 =/= 10 The rest I don't know the formulas for. That'll be seventeen dollars. |
