Who else agrees that we need a cinematic universe based on the legendary works of H.P. Lovecraft? I can imagine an entire set of connecting stories based on his various works such as Herbert West-Reanimator. I still don't understand why no one has attempted to do a proper adaption of his major works.
I would set it in modern times, with Randolph Carter being the central protagonist, as he investigates weird supernatural events linked to the mythical Great Old Ones. |

| Perhaps they could branch the Cinematic Universe off of Re-Animator. |

Stuart Gordon and Brian Yuzna already have a sorta cinematic universe.
Re-Animator From Beyond Dagon (my favorite Lovecraft film) Necronomicon
They're imo the best adaptations of anything lovecraftian and could never be beaten. |

| I'm thinking they could adapt more Lovectaft stories for film. Maybe us true horror fans would get what we wanted. |

Yeah we still haven't gotten a good enough adaptation of Call of Cthulhu.
Just maybe Gordon could get one rolling. |

It will be nothing like the books , it was a risk doing the Dark corners of the earth game. Doing a movie would be iinsufficient. Really. But Stanley Kubrick did a amazing job with the Shining and Clockwork. So i guess doing a Lovecraft movie would be a challenge . I think the director that should make one it's Clive Barker. He would do a excelent job. |

| Clive is great but I still say Gordon and Yuzna could throw together a incredible cthulhu film. |

ReAnimator is a film your parents wouldn't let you see.
It was probably unrated so it couldn't get into theaters because of how "graphic" it was.
And Clive is great with hellraiser.
But I still think the Lovecraft film universe belongs to Gordon and Yuzna. Their films were/are just so incredible. |
