because im paranoid
also it doesnt hurt to be prepared, social order wont last forever.
also, by real katana, i mean folded steel and such. i dont plan on spending 100,000$ on a sword... |

sorry, but you aren't going to find a quality one for less than a couple hundred dollars or more however, if you do have the budget i would recommend checking out cold steel knives, they have all kinds of cutlery if you can't find a good katana, there are other kinds of swords out there that are just as practical, you know |

i had found some for roughly 400-500 bucks
i know most katanas cant even begin to compare to true katanas (which can go for like 100,000$ from what i remember) but if it's somewhat battle-ready and can slash through stuff im fine.
itd mostly serve as a wall prop up until i actually needed it |

checking at cold steel knives
theyre not too bad price-wise but id have to save up on my own unless it happens to be on sale around my birthday, which is when id get that. |

but, why a sword? what "battles" are you going to get into? it would just be a lot cheaper and more practical to buy some folding knives |

because im getting it as one of those things you forget about until you actually need it
also i have a thing for swords in general, but id rather have one of those protecting me over a knife if i ever had to fight someone at close range. |

well to each his own, i suppose but a pocket knife would be much more practical...knives can still be just as sharp, but much more concealable and light weight |

true
but to be honest, say someone walked into my house and i heard him. he grabbed a kitchen knife off of my counter and came at me. if i had a chance to get said katana/sword if i bought one, i would likely win the fight due to the extra reach whereas my chances would be lower if i had a knife.
very unlikely scenario but when buying weapons you have to think of what can happen. |

then maybe you shouldn't keep lethally sharp kitchen knives where anybody can get to them, eh? oh well, it's your decision |
