after watching this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59YN8_lg6-U
i began to wonder... what DO blind people see?
i mean, do they see black? but how CAN they see black? they're not capable of seeing any colors
so i guess they see... nothing? but what is nothing? how can you not see a color? what's it like to NOT see a color? i just don't understand...
i guess trying to understand what blind people see to us is as confusing as them trying to understand what colors are
idk it's weird |

I've wondered a few other things, too.
There is a blind girl in my 2nd hour class she is fully blind, but whenever someone is speaking to her she knows exactly where they are.
but there are some cases where you dont know where the sound is coming from
~And I won't show or feel any pain, even though all my armor might rust in the rain~ |

''This is a good question. I had a brain tumor removed about 2 years ago. When they took it out, they hit a nerve which made me go blind for about 5 months. They went back in and fixed the damaged nerve to give me my sight back. The good thing was my sister was blind and so I knew how to read braille, and how to do most of the things i now needed.
The answer to your ? All you see is black, and mixture of colors, like you see when you sleep sometimes. It is all about how you think what you see. I could paint pictures of where i was in my mind and that is what i saw. For me, since i knew what my surroundings looked like when i could see, It was easier for me. My sister always told me she could see either black red blue yellow, or white. I would describe the surroundings to her and she would almost be able to see it. All people are different. I would never go back to being blind it was scary and not fun. Be glad that you are the way you are. I know can see semi-normal, and my sister can see 10%, but only black and white. Some blind people are glad to answer ?s like this one, some aren't so good idea to ask it here. Hope I helped and good luck Source(s): me, and my sister, personal experience''

@evil
but they can't really explain to you what they're seeing, considering that it's insanely difficult to describe what a color looks like to someone |

Well, from what I understand: People can be considered blind if they cannot see past 6 meters around them. Some blind people can only distinguish between light and dark but cannot define objects or depth. Some blind people still have vision, but it is too blurry. Some blind people cannot see anything at all |

@BLOK
thanks for the response, but i think that it might be different for people who were blind since birth, since they have no concept of what a color is |

''what is the meaning of life''
that's your own interpretation
but the main purpose of life is living it, doesn't matter how |

| Its interesting to think about. If you were to severe your optic nerves what would you see. It would be nothing because of the lack of sight - but would it just be blackness? I presume its beyond our comprehension. We are after all of limited processing power. |
