"3: Birmingham, Alabama Yes, they almost gave Alabama a NHL team in 1979. The only reason this is not any higher on the list is because at the time they had a WHA team. Fortunately they were smart enough to realize that the low attendance their WHA team was getting would not support the team."
ROFL I think nearly every area in Texas with a population of over 100,000 could have more fans than Birmingham. |

| Yes, but if St. Louis is REALLY near KC, can't KC fans of the Blues drive to St. Louis? |

@anojan >Birmingham, ALABAMA >hockey team
Any CITY, forget area, in Texas with a population of 75,000+ can support a hockey team more than Birmingham, because people in Alabama don't even LIKE hockey.
That means everything from Mission to Round Rock to Plano to San Angelo to Houston to Laredo, you name it. |

If you're going to put a hockey team in Mississippi, then any Texas city with a population of over 50,000 can support a hockey team.
Good game Jackson, Allen and Cedar Park - oh wait. |

| San Francisco doesn't even have a decent arena. The Cow Palace is a joke. |
