Q.1) Will we be able to set the target of light? - Like will we be able to direct the light at something instead of it having a glow around the Part?
Q.2) Will we be able to size the light range? - Will we be able to size the.light out so it lights up Parts in a 200 studs?
Q.3) Will they only be blending lights or will 'beams' of light become the future of this feature? - Going back to a glow around the Part, will light beams be included in this feature?
Q.4) Will light be an object in the 'Object explorer'? - Will Light be in the Object explorer or will this be a property of a Part? I personally think they should be an object so we can insert it using a script
Q.5.a) Will lights get blocked out by other parts? - So if the light is behing a part then the part will block out the light realistically, giving out a shadow?
Q.5.b) If Parts will block out the light and give out a shadow of its shape, then will Meshes block out the light at the shape of its Brick or at the Meshes shape? - Lets say theres a Top Hat on a table-will that give out a shadow of the table with a Block sitting on top or will it show the shape of a Top Hat?
Q.6) Will Shadows be affected by the Lights direction? - Will shadows be dropped on the opposite side from where the light is hitting it or will shadows of Parts only be affected by how the sun is set?
I need a team member to reply to this, thanks!

Q1: Like this? :) http://i.imgur.com/kYwJawB.jpg
Q2: Yes. There is a limit though; our current limit for the light radius is 60 studs (so 120 studs in size)
Q4: See the screenshot above. It's an object under the part; you can hide the part if you don't need it.
Q5a: We have plans for it, but nothing definite yet.
Q5b: Not planned yet. Note that the resolution of the lighting is 4 studs, so you'd have to have a big enough mesh for this to matter.
Q6: This is related to Q5a; if we do implement it, then the shadows will be mostly independent for each light. |

Thank you so much for this reply zeuxcg Just a question if you ever reply - Are you Simon Kozlov or Arseny Kapoulkine (if any)?
I might get in touch with you to give some feedback if the light & shadow feature is released.
Q1) Yup, like that
Q2) Ohh, and 120 studs will be enough :)
Q4) That's great!
Q5a) Okay, I understand that it's just a in-works feature and is still improving
Q5b) The current ROBLOX shadows from the direction of sun do show hat/gear meshes so that might be something to look at :P
Q6) Great feature
ROBLOX is only improving, this has has been the best I've seen in a long time can't wait to see it in practice! :D |

| The only thing about voxel-based lighting is you want to have thick walls. |

Will light be able to shine through transparent or translucent blocks?
If yes to translucent, will it be a lighter shadow? |

Yes, it will. By data coding. Some bugs will be fixed before it goes out on a update.

@tissue
Obviously, light in ROBLOX already reflects off objects such as ice. |
