What would a MOBA in ROBLOX look like? That's the question Zero Studios asked themselves - and that is why, we have decided to try and recreate the addictive, high-octane experience in ROBLOX.

This MOBA game would include the familiar top-down camera incorporated in games such as Underscore and Bracket, whilst also retaining a fully-fledged ability tree and an extensive list of items.

Zero Arena would retain the staple of all MOBA games such as;
- Extensive list of items
- Lots of abilities with special FX.
- High-octane experience
- Strategical gameplay

Zero Arena would take control of your character - not a predefined hero - that would be able to learn abilities in one of five ability trees;

Strength - Focuses on Durability & Melee damage
Intelligence - Focuses on Ranged damage & Mana
Agility - Focuses on movement speed & attack speed
Rage - Focuses on killstreaks & high-risk-high-gain gameplay
Support - Focuses on supporting fellow allies.

The game will take place on changing maps, and would require you to destroy each other's towers and ultimately, their nexus. There will be other twists that would be best kept as a secret too.

Any ideas? Suggestions? Keep postin' 'em.

There are no weapons - only abilities and items like you would see in a normal MOBA game such as League of Legends and DOTA 2.

TL;DR

This game would allow you to control your character and fight against the other team with other players and you would be able to cast spells and purchase items!

Think of DOTA 2 or League of Legends, but in ROBLAWKS!

I think there should be an armor system, or maybe some means of customization.
That way nobody looks exactly alike.

I was also thinking that even if we didn't have diffrent weapons that maybe have a way of customizing the look of the weapon/spell/whatever your character uses.

Players control their normal players - I will look like my avatar I have chosen, and you will look like your avatar. :)

Also, mind expanding on the spell customization?

Sounds great! Please tell everyone when this comes out, and, if possible, try to post ads on Roblox! Like the time Roblox sponsored Lego Hero Factory using that huge trailer, for 2 weeks (even though it is still going on). Try to expand on intricate GUI's and little details to really wow us, because the pre-programmed stuff any noob can do is pretty amazing. Also, max-out on customization, because we want to see the level of creativity and carefulness in creating this.

Intricate GUIs are to be expected - and customization is expected, although it would not be considered as 'freely'.

The GUIs would take the design guidelines of 'glass', a sleek, modern, and simplistic GUI design language that is consistent throughout the game.

The level of customization is simply;
-You are able to choose 5 spells from a pool of spells with different 'branches', such as support, strength, etc.
-You can buy different in-game items that would benefit your stats.
-You can customize your in-game tag.
-You can buy 'auras' and nametags with in-game points.

Since, there is no real reason for visual appeal other than that of animations and spells.

Also, yes we will make custom maps, but most of them will just have the same design anyway, and, in reply to the custom chat, yes we should be since, it's a team-based game.

If anyone finds out how to do effective team chat that is...

Game Passes give Skins = Profit.

Make all "Champions" free, to prevent grinding of Points to buy them in-game. If you don't, then there's always an option for grinding or have them pay R$ to get the Champion which also = more profit.

There's no 'Champions' - you play the champions.

This is so that there is a more variety and freedom to freely customize how you look and we don't have to spend the extra time making new champions and animations and sounds.

How do you activate abilities? Through shortcuts, a GUI, or both?

Also, meele fights might be hard. It doesn't work well with ROBLOX characters.


Ehh, best of luck though. And I hope you finish on the project.

Remember that others will be reading your code so discuss it with them and make extensive use of functions, name variables properly and **always** ___INDENT___.
