At my school, football gets 50% of the activities budget, with the other 9 extra-curricular activities having to share the other 50%.

| Pretty much, this year our band had to get all of it's money ourselves. We needed 35,000 for new uniforms and an ACTUAL band room not some crap brick room that echos. While my school started a Lacrosse team and blew 40,000 on it know even knowing if it was going to be popular. |

| I'm in band, and it is one of the lowest( above art club, and choir) funded activities. |

/My band teacher gets roughly $1500 a school year for band related things. Music for five different bands (Three different level bands, Jazz, Marching band) is pretty expensive according to her.

It's alot of fun, and you get to bash idiots at my school for trying to pass through ranks.
Record: 6 black eyes I apparently broke a kids nose after he shoved me and nearly tripped a tuba player/players. |

I was in football and our team was really good, but they gave us crap equipment and never really talked about the team on school announcements..
I wish my school had more funding :( |

@Ell,
I'll let you know I play sports, and especially football and let me tell you something. I'm in AP Reading and lead my grade in points, words read, and fluency. I also have all A's and I have football after every school day. Made Varsity in Freshman year, I play Safety, BTW. But you insulted me, and wanted to let you know that.

There is such a class as AP reading? LOL
Anyways, the majority of HS football players are arrogant and stupid.

| Yup, but personally being a football player I don't mind it. It's a very costly sport, though, along with Wrestling which I also do... |
