They would soar in popularity.
The NFL's schedule hypes its games up. That increases ratings and revenue.
Hell, its championship game comes 2 weeks after the conference games just so the already huge amount of hype is doubled. |

Baseball ain't never gonna do that.
162 games, is long. But they make it into little 3-4 game series to rise up the action. |

@tato Which is a good thing. The fewer the games=the more important the games=the better the players perform=the better the games are=higher ratings=more attention=higher ratings=more popularity. |

@Donny If each series was one game each team would play 54 games. |

| I would hate a shorter NBA/NHL season. |

@Tato If each team played 1 game per week, it would.
Currently, teams in the NBA, NHL, and MLB are able to go on 10 game winning streaks because they will play a bunch of games in a short amount of time and will be able to carry the momentum from each game to the other with ease.
If it was a week between games you would have to rely on pure skill and a sprinkle of momentum to go on that run. |

Baseball isn't very hard on the muscles so you can easily rest up and play again the next day. Unless you are a pitcher, that is where 4-5 days of rest of suggested.
That is why they play so many games. It's more of a relaxed season from a fan perspective. |

@Donny Which is why injuries tend to happen more at the end of the season? If you had a week to prepare you wouldn't have as many missed games. You would be able to put the best players out on the field. |

I don't see injures a lot at the end of the season.
Plus injuries are mainly because of freak accident, collision. |

@Donny Are you really going to tell me 162 games won't show its toll at the end of the season? |

| Notice how a NFL team has only played on Thursday night once a season? |

| There is always the build up of soreness around the body, but adrenaline takes that away. |
