[[Intro]] ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Currently, the lower ranks of REC-LET have no real purpose or distinction. Due to a lack of information regarding the requirments, these ranks are randomly awarded to often undeserving members at trainings.
The upper ranks MAJOR - WTO have an equal amount of un-provided information.
With that in mind, I put out this proposal/summary. |▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬| |▬▬[Lower Ranks]▬▬|
The issue when dealing with the lower ranks is simplicity; in order to retain new members, the the basic ideas of advancment must be presented in an understandable and fun way. This will drive member activity forward, and provide a viable means of keeping new members engaged.
Thus, the ranks have to be divided into tiers, (catagories). T1 = REC-SPC [[LEARNING]] |
T2 = SGT-CPT [[ADVANCING]] (e.g. Furthing improving on physical skills learned in T1.) CPT = the pinnacle of the Advancing phase.
T3 = MAJ-OFF [[LEADING/TEACHING]] T4 = HRs. Organization. Mhm.
>Recruits are immideantly presented with a series of easy to understand 'quests'. Recruits could be directed towards a single player training facility, with basic obstacle courses and GUI's depicting basic rules and methods. This idea has been demonstrated with success in large scale clans, such as RAT.
> PVT, CPL and the majority of SPC need to be cleared out. Hands down. No dispute. If we want to USE those ranks, we need to start over. They could then be used as ranks earned in training. (e.g. Physical skills such as Sword Jumping)
> SGT - LET would then become transition ranks. People in these ranks would be transitioning from LEARNING physicall skills, to ADVANCING in skill, and LEARNING leadership.
> CPT becomes the pinnacle of the LEARNING tier. They should KNOW all the physical skills we want them to know. They should be LEARNING leadership.
> Major - Officer. Not really the point of this thread, but the difference between Major/Officer would be LEADERSHIP. Majors are officers in training, we want them to be able to be mature when in charge of a group.
|▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬| |▬▬[Further on...]▬▬|
>I'd like officers to KNOW why they are officers. If it's co-leading a division, hosting trainings or whatever.
Purpose = Activity.
Give them a purpose, and they'll provide the activity. I'd introduce a Certified trainer program. Officer interested in hosting trainings demonstrate how they do it, and majors interested in learning or co-hosting are inspected as well.
In other words, GIVE EACH RANK A PURPOSE, AND EACH RANK WILL RETURN THE FAVOR IN ACTIVITY. Profound.
|▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬| |▬▬[Conclusion]▬▬|
I don't want a complete demotion of everybody, (though in a perfect world that would be ideal) since that would create a nightmarish hell for the HRs. But we need to change something. It's been done before, and it's never worked. Why?
Because nobody has ever followed through with a workable plan AFTER the reform. If we could pull this off, we'd really never need to do another TOTALL DEMOTION OF EVERYBODY again.
Ever.
We'd be setting FEAR up to run smoothly for years to come.
Seriously. |▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬| This is kinda a quick overview for what I THINK should be done. Obviously, it would require tons of HR participation and agreement.
This should be discussed.
PM me if you disagree or have questions. I'm open, and everybody knows I don't freak out and quit when people disagree with me...

You have my full support. We need to bring this up to SONIC at FEAR Meeting, because we defiantly need something like this, and it should boost LR activity.
We also should send LRs on "quests" more often, so they get more REAL WORLD experience. |

| Supported. But the demotion of all LR's will cause them to leave the group in a rage after they got promoted. |

| Supported. I would be able to do NOTHING without FS. It's the only thing that I can really do in leadership. I have no idea what to do as a plain Officer... Like I said in slasher's post: This thread is nothing without an HR actually taking the first steps. Dozens of these threads have been put out, but so far, none have done anything. Fli, fire, slasher, ShiZhang, etc., are you ready to take the first step? |

I second this. Now HRs can't ignore people who actually deserve promotions. And it actually gives MAJs and OFFs stuff to do. I mean, patrolling with no raiders is stupid of MAJs and OFFs, because the only reason people do it is to get noticed by a HR. And it's getting to the point were is it pointless to go to a training - you've done it a thousand times if you're a MAJ+.
