Once again we're seeing rumors and panic spreading about KL (keylogging) programs. So here, take a deep breath, and repeat after me:
DON'T PANIC.
Here are a few steps to help keep your computer safe:
1) Shut down your internet connection and do a complete virus and malware scan. If you don't have antivirus/malware software, download some from a verified website first (do not under ANY circumstances try pirating it-- hello, it'll most likely have malware).
2) Avoid clicking on suspicious links or giving out your password to any third party individuals, websites, programs or plugins.
3) Report links to suspected keylogging URLs with the Report Abuse link. A moderator or customer service agent will review the URLs and take the appropriate action.
4) Remember where I said don't panic? Seriously, don't panic. Just follow sensible safety protocols and you'll be fine. |

@CrimzonDrake
I'm looking into the status of Hat Notifier and other extensions and will update the sticky when I know. They should be okay, but just to be extra safe you might consider disabling them until you can be sure your system's clean. |
