---Adapted--- A prequel to Evolved
Two hundred and thirty nine ye.ars ago two siblings founded a scientific foundation on the wealth of their inheritance, one of their first projects was experimentation on the science evolution. One of their tests involved injected a group of normal humans with a biologically and chemically developed mutagen that stimulates evolution on a massive scale, speeding up the evolving process to such an extent that millions of ye.ars of evolution takes place in a few decades. The speciments were placed on a remote, inhospitable island off the east coast of the USA, they were given limited starting supplies then they were left for natural selection to take it's course. For one hundred and thirty six ye.ars the ever evolving 'speciments' lived and adapted to the previously thought impossible conditions to survive and prosper. Countless different species and variations of the original test subjects have now come to exist, each and every one of them under the watchful eye of the scientific foundation that first placed their ancestors there. Watching from afar the scientists had been studying the speciments' rapid evolution for centuries. Some 'Evolveds' living in competition with each other and some even struggling to build communities in the harsh land, though whenever such settlements go to large they were dissolved by the scientists who wished to keep their infrastructure primitive. The immense variety of evolved speciments that had developed after one hundred and thirty six yea.rs was very impressive and surprising to the scientists, the patterns and adaptations of the island inhabitants were so complex and fine tuned they seemed almost artistically perfect. Amongst all the Evolveds, they had super human abilities ranging from mind manipulation to the power to flying and no two Evolveds had the same power, even descendants and twins rarely shared the same powers as their relatives. The scientists concluded the diversity must have been because the initial group of humans sent there br3d with each other, causing their genes to mix. Due to the island's conditions and the ever active mutagen all possible genetic paths were explored and used by their descendants. Some Evolveds gained physical advantages which added powerful additions to their bodies and some gained mental and psychokinetic abilities such as the power to control elements and substances. One of the most influential and important factors of the 'experiment' was the fact that the test subjects were still human, whilst their new appearances said otherwise and whilst some had lost their humanity, most of the Evolveds on the island retained their human emotions and intelligence which meant parents still nurtured their children. In fact families became closely knit to find safety in each other and in long lasting families the members even wield powers that compliment another's, allowing families to work in collaboration for the peak of their strength. When the experiment first started the scientists hypothesized that as the human's evolved they would slowly lose their humanity. This would have been a serious issue if they ever intended to use the mutagen on the rest of the world. After over a century of tests the scientists learned that their hypothesis was, thankfully, incorrect. By examining the results it was learned that, out of all the aspects of hom0sapiens, only the brain remained unchanged. The human brain is possibly the only thing almost all Evolved have in common and very few species have tried to alter it, usually with little success. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LIFE: Families formed small settlements consisting of multiple generations from one family. There were many of these all around the island. Small families and people looking to survive basically on their own lived in villages. The only towns really allowed to be built were market towns. These had few permanent residents and they were not exactly towns. There were some inns that no one could afford to stay at unless they had "modern" money. If a settlement was started it often stayed for at least a while. The Scientists didn't want to break the bonds of family for specific reasons but the settlements never got dangerously big. Among small villages, only raiders caused trouble, along with a few natural disasters. Modern money was a rare thing. It was often prized as family heirlooms. Trading often used a bartering system and a money system that was best compared to the ones of very ancient civilizations. Settlements and villages were usually somewhat close together to make communication and trade easy but far apart enough to be considered cautious of other villages that may actually be 'bandit outposts'. For every 5 or 6 settlements there were 1 or 2 villages. For every 4 or 5 villages there was one trading town. It is important to remember that the island is very large and this is two hundred and thirty nine years in the future. Due to these facts, scientists of the organization were able to develop and install a disruptive field that when viewed from above bends the image of the sea to cover the island. Meaning it doesn't appear on satellite despite being almost being 200 miles across however Evolveds do not know this shield exists. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE ISLAND: The island is somewhat big, nearly 200 miles across both ways. It is large and somewhat grassy, with several rocky parts. Others are jungles and small forests. There are many rivers on this island, making the land somewhat fertile. There is one small mountain that is actually a dormant volcano, it is home to many natural cave systems and some Evolveds have utilized the heat in it's depths. It is known as the entrance to the Underground, which contains several settlements in it's caverns and is home to the City. The City is the largest town on the island which is 'almost' a city, yet to be detected by the scientists and to big to be attacked by raiders. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rules: No g-modding, ubering, being a mary-sue/ gary-stue, metagaming, exc.... | Its the tittle because adapatations are related to Evolution and you kind of need to adapt to Evolve. |

(I wasn't crazy on the title...)
Name: Kalvin Tenison
A.ge: 9
Gender: Male
Personality: He has built up a great dislike towards the world because he is discriminated against for having horns, because he's been hurt so much it takes a lot for him to trust people and is very cautious of them because he's constantly afraid of being hurt more. Although he's sad he puts on a hard exterior because he turns his sadness into anger. When he does make friends that he learns to trust he values them greatly, more than anything.
Appearance: He has blond hair that falls nearly all over his head with a fringe that stops at his eyes, he has very pale, skin and red eyes. He has a very weak build because he relies on his telekinesis to do most things, he is averagely sized for his age but is underweight. He often has bruises because the other children at the orphanage bully him for being strange because none of the other children have horns or are reclusive. In terms of appearance he is actually a normal human plus his horns. He has a scar along the palm of his hand which came from a really bad encounter with the orphanage's worst bully, it served as a turning point for his view on the world.
Items: He has no items to his name other than the clothes on his back, any special things he did have were destroyed or desecrated by the bullies he's encountered.
Power(s)/ Gift(s)/ Mutation(s): He is telekinetic, his telekinesis manifests itself in multiple arms that he can manipulate up to 5 meters, they are very fast and only he can see them. As he has matured and continued to mature, the amount of vectors he can use, the range he can use them and the strength of his vectors increases. His vectors can also be effected by his emotions, especially his distress.
Bio: He was found as a child, assumed to be abandoned by his parents and was taken in by an orphanage in The City that also educated the children. During his time in the orphanage he endured bullies and sometimes even beatings every day from the other children which made it hard for him to make any friends. The adults of the orphanage also thought him strange so they turned a blind eye to him and were annoyed when he asked for help or fell ill. He is a smart child and is very fluent in using his vectors but his natural kindness prevents him from using his vectors to hurt his fellow students even though the more he is bullied the more that kindness runs out. He takes every opportunity to get out of the orphanage and away from his tormentors and is often scolded for doing so, he has his own room because all the other children refuse to share one with him and he has never had a single friend. He has also never come into contact with the world outside the city and has never even seen the sun, that is most of the reason he is so pale.

| The only reason it was called that is because there was like NO better name, well any names that made sense. It was chosen because well adaptations can be linked to evolution... That is unless my teachers lie... They have done that before O_O |

{For the sequel to Evolved, you should name it 'Changed' or 'Updated'. c: (No offence intended)}

I never really cared for Evolution so I never tried to learn anything about it. All the information I have is from my science teacher last year and my some if from my biology teacher but he only tells us random facts about how it links to what we are learning. O_O I know I am going to make a sequel but I haven't planned that far, its far to early in the story to have anything permanent planned. Why would that be offensive...? |

No, the only cool tails are detachable ones and tails that can control themselves.

CS:
Name: Johnathan Millers the 3rd
A.ge: 19
Gender: Male
Personality: Kind, very kind, generous, and appreciative of all life.
Appearance: He looks like a younger version of the hunter Johnathan that I created in the other evolved thread. He is 5'5 with a german accent, wears a basic tie with a dirty, torn white pollester dress shirt and black vest. He has combat pants and also combat boots he took from a raiders corpse. He has 2 scars on his some what tanned face. He has ice burg blue eyes and brown hair.
Items: A knife
Power(s)/ Gift(s)/ Mutation(s): He can shift his physical form to a gas or liquid, but can go through objects, ending up elsewhere, though it isn't always where he wants to be...it hurts to use though.
Bio: He is the son to a slaughtered mother and father, victim to slaughtered raiders and prey to the strong. He has been all of these things, he had grown up from essentially dust. He had been raised to the age of 7 before being abandoned with his appropriate skills. He had used his skills to survive, this had made it so he could hunt for himself, make a structure when needed though usually these were simply trash cans and high up places from the ground. He had lived the existence of a street urchin, and eventually, he finally figured his way out. He was a smart kid, this then gave him the urge, the urge to leave that role and live a life apart. He had finally figured out how to fix his problem, he gave up, he moved on from society, he now has been looking for the city, on his own, in the wild...alone...to this present day. Other: Err...I WILL CATCH THE BULLET...Not roleplay related, inside joke. |
