I teach technology at high school. I heard about this Roblox program from one of my students. I read articles about Roblox, and I think the programming and sandbox functionality of Roblox would be a good teaching tool for my students.
I have a few questions:
- Is this a good teaching tool for technology class in high school?
-Is this appropriate to teach for high schoolers?
-Can it run on a Mac?
-Can it run any other language other than Lua, like C# for example?
Thanks!

@Dunn11499 Well, unfortunately, no, it does not have programming languages other than Lua, but if your students are learning Lua, this is a great way to help them learn. Just keep a note that this is RBLX_Lua and not just Lua. |

| Ah, Then it will be useful. But if you want them to start from scratch, Make sure to keep them away from the community toolbox, It gives custom maps and scripts. |

| Chris, before deciding whether or not you can use the program to help teach coding please note: after every update roblox makes, all the scripts break. That is all. |

| Despite the previous posts, OP, most users of the forums are fairly young so ignore them. Yes roblox runs on Mac, i can definately confirm that. I use one myself, and it can only run Lua. |

| I'm in high school. They would hate this. It runs ok on a mac. It's only Lua, and it may be education if you are teaching them to script video games. |

I'll actually answer these.
- Is this a good teaching tool for technology class in high school? It really depends what you are teaching.
-Is this appropriate to teach for high schoolers? Well, ROBLOX was designed for kids between 10-14, but recently it has been incredibly popular with users 15+.
-Can it run on a Mac? Yes, it can run on Mac, Windows XP, Vista Win 8, Win 7 And iOS devices.
-Can it run any other language other than Lua, like C# for example? No, it can only run LUA.
Hope it helps. :) |
