Revised version of Top 15, due to the amount of missing content.
25. Excessive Cursing Seriously kids, if pixels swear more than the average CoD nerdling, it's not cool. It's annoying. VERY annoying.
24. Barrel Roll Explosion The few instances in modern gaming where "spaceship shoots laser boom" still applies have devolved into "spaceship gets hit. Mode-7 engaged."
23. Unrealistic Cool Guy Basically, take away most personality and surgically replace it with what every teenager wants to be. Very few characters have ever gotten this right. (ex: Dante, Travis Touchdown, Duke Nukem pre-DNF)
22. Ridiculous HP It's just fake difficulty. And also a perfect way to cover the fact that games are requiring less and less skill to play, partially because spamming is a necessity to whittle down all of that health.
21. Silent Protagionists It’s OK if the franchise has built itself around the character well. But now, with a bigger focus on story, they just detract from the character’s personality and make him/her seem zero-dimensional.
20. Ice/Wind Tunnel Physics Essentially, you become a living dartboard. This isn’t any higher because I’ve never had any problems with ice and/or wind-related levels
19. Generic Soldiers Some people like to relate to their characters. Do you think anyone can relate to semiliterate man-burgers who are armed to the teeth and have experience in all things military but would obviously fail to even fill out an IQ test?
18. Copy-Paste Enemies I'm fine with different types of one enemy. But when a whole new enemy does the same thing as the most common mook in the game? That's just being lazy.
17. Braindead NPCs I just saved this kingdom's princess. I wonder what the townsfolk think of it. Let's see... What? Haven't you said this to me a million times before?
16. Short Campaigns Let me appeal to your common sense. YOU CANNOT KILL A DICTATOR AND HIS MASSIVE ARMY IN FOUR HOURS. It's worse than 18th-century war hype!
15. Rapid-Input Sequences Especially in party games, this can wear your thumbs out and reduce your current challenge to a luckfest. After repeating the sequences for hours, days, weeks, maybe even months, your controller will eventually break.
14. Bad Voice Acting Especially in kids' games, there's that one character that always screeches to the point where you want to enter the TV and jackslap that loudspeaker to kingdom come and back.
13. Regenerating Health It makes sense in RPGs and games with shield systems, but for normal humans on Planet Earth? wat
12. Invisible Walls Yes. I know that games that aren’t Minecraft are finite. But that doesn’t mean that we have to keep smashing our heads into these things.
11. Racial stereotyping There's almost a guarantee that any character that has a defined ethnicity will be presented in a biased manner, especially if they are Russian, American, Arab, or Korean
10. Zombies I just dropped my ha- HOLY CRAP ZOMBIES! Let me pick up this machi- HOLY CRAP MORE ZOMBIES!
9. Terrible AI AI, especially in First-Person Shooters, tends to be somewhat broken. Enemies charge your position while absorbing more bullets than a plastic deer, run into walls, or can track you from half a mile away without sniping or showing any awareness of your existence. And then there’s friendly AI. Ugh…
8. Hand-holding Another example of how games are requiring less and less skill. In order to market their wares to people not interested in gaming, some developers take away any feeling of not knowing how to play, thus insulting or lowering our intelligence by taking away any feeling of gain, learning, or experience. They do this by bombarding you with walls of text that give trivial information, or littering levels with omnipotent “guides” that complete the levels for you. I’m looking squarely at you, Nintendo.
7. Quick-Time Events In boss fights, they’re excusable. However, in cutscenes, especially the ones with little to nothing happening, nobody can followthatpulsatingfirebuttonoryouwilldie without failing miserably
6. Obvious sequels, annual releases, and pointless remakes Some of us have already realized that video games have transformed into an eternal money-sponge. Why? Basically, certain games set themselves up for sequels with incomplete endings that are supposed to get us hyped, but sometimes angering us instead, and then there are franchises like the EA Sports lineup and Call of Duty that get cranked out every year, all for a quick buck. Don’t even get me started on GoTY editions…
5. We should hire a kid to do this! Basically, law enforcement is too lazy, so they want some random teenager to take down a criminal organization. I guess child labor laws are no longer in practice in the digital world.
4. Constant flashbacks OK… we know your parents were killed when you were three. Your constant reminders about it kinda kill any form of remorse or grief here…
3. Babysitting Imagine this: You’re walking along, then suddenly, some random guy wants you to escort his daughter to some random place. And she happens to have the IQ of a mailbox. And ended up as dead as one in thirty seconds flat. Yeah. Angry yet?
2. Luck-based gameplay This comes in many forms: - Roulettes - Rhythm or rapid-input based minigames - Critical Hits - One-Hit Kill - Random Encounters All of these are equally infuriating, and make you feel outright helpless. (Isn’t that what those money-grubbing buttmunches DON’T want?)
1. Filthy Content We already know that gaming is specifically targeted towards males. However, they like to shove it in our face with *ahem* ladies of the night, abnormal amounts of skin showing, and the fact that most adult female characters have thingies the size of desk drawers. Ugh… I feel unclean just trying to explain this.

>every teenager wants to be
You should have said 'basically every teenager wants to be' because that is kind of stereotypical.
Just wanted to point that out, and good list. |

Some I agree with, others I disagree with.
A lot of it depends on how it is pulled off. Some of the absolute statements you have made are made false by some games.
Maybe if you said this was in your opinion, I might be less inclined to point this out. |

>Your parents must really monitor you.
Actually, they don't. I'm just sick and tired of #1 being used to rope in the teenagers and creepers, thus squeezing more from the eternal money-sponge that is electronic media. |

| I dont mind cursing if its done properly, i'd expect a marine to curse like a marine. And i prefer nameless faceless soldier #6634 as the protagonist of the game instead of the character having BS emotional breakdowns and such. |

I haven't seen a game where people misuse cursing unless it's done intentionally for the character. And #1 lol is OP gRay/female? |
