Isn't that the point of covers? If you're not supposed to judge a book by it's cover, why try hard to have a good cover? |

it's a figure of speech used to denote other things such as people
sometimes the prettiest people won't be the prettiest on the inside (personality wise)
or the not-so-nice-looking can be pretty deep, funny, charismatic, etc.

But I wouldn't go inside if it was REALLLY ugly.
