We should be allowed to set it, but not get it as exploiters can steal scripts with it.

imo no one has any reason yo use sorce ingame. It's always an ugly hack to accomplish something that could easily be done more elegantly.

There is no reason I can think of you should need to change the script in-game other than exploiting.

I think it should at least be allowed. Especially for like serializing plugins that need to make scripts.

...You CAN use source property with plugins and pretty much in studio. But not in game. In game, you can just use loadstring()..

Ryan, why? loadstring("blablabla")() works, and plugins can set it. There is no purpose to it.

Speaking of plugins, is there a way to lower the security level of a plugin? I want to have the security level of a normal script instead.

@Seranok
And yet another misconception about security levels...
You cannot "lower" the security level of something. There is no such thing as decreasing or increasing the security level. Each level has access to certain things. There is no hierarchy, no order, nothing. You cannot say that one level is better than another level because there is just no hierarchy between them. |

I read the earlier thread and yes I was aware that levels are not technically "above" or "below" other levels. However, I was clarifying that I was not in fact trying to go from level 4 to level 7, for instance, which is much more difficult than going "down".

I'd agree to this, but we already have plugins.
And usually there's always a better way to doing something than modifying script.Source. |
