"Is there a best woman in music?"
Technically, no, because that would be based off of opinions. However, if I were to say who I THINK the best woman in music should be it would either be:
Aretha Franklin: She shaped music and had a flawless voice. Her music is timeless and she has many songs people still remember today. She was and still is a huge influence to many artists. She won 20 Grammy awards, 2nd most out of any woman. Her song Respect has got to be one of the most iconic songs of all time.
Madonna: Okay, singing wise, her voice isn't all that great. And I don't like her, but I have to admit she's up there as one of the best women because she is THE original pop star. She's been in the music business, successfully, for 30 years now. She was able to create contraversy but still come out on top. She has the top 3 most highest grossing tours EVER of a woman, and might brake her record AGAIN with the MDNA tour. Her half time show at the superbowl last year got more views than the game itself. The fact that every big pop star now is compared to her proves how iconic she is. Her (older) pop music was game changing. Pretty much anything a newer pop stars do is influenced in some way by Madonna.

Since yesterday! I guess she's okay I don't know much about her or her music though. |

I don't like Adele. I find her to be boring. Her songs are all slow, which I wouldn't have a problem with, if they were about something other than her boyfriend leaving her, or if you could tell there is emotion in her voice when she sings. Also, she's not a performer. I'd sooner sit through a Nicki Minaj concert than and Adele concert, because even though she can't sing, at least she can do something other than stand there. Performing is half the fun of music. If you're going to stand completely still and sing, you better have a voice like Whitney Houston, or Celine Dion...Adele does not. |
