Apparently you crash whenever you try to move an object with a copy or drag tool? Was there an update that edited the running of the scripts inside it that crashes the client?

This is not a new regression-- it's been around for a little while; hopefully though, you are using newer build tools than the hopperbin-based ones, since HopperBin objects are deprecated anyways and are in no way guaranteed to be supported in the future.

Why would you just break them completely? They are the backbone of so so so many games.
You guys make little sense sometimes. |

*add a feature*
*wait until hundreds of games depend on the feature and the creators leave roblox*
*remove the feature*
Roblox logic. |

| I think a better solution to HopperBins is to give us a reason to not use them; phsychologically, I don't think we take note of an object being deprecated. |

Almost all of the good builders are using Blobbyblob build online and some sort of cmdutl + studio tools in Studio, or even Blobbyblob build in studio (It exists). The old buildings tools were pretty good, but no (good) builder really uses them to any extent. Now, that's not to say that I dislike the old building tools being deprecated, but I don't think it affects too many people who really enjoy building.
ROBLOX should really entirely fix it's API in some manner, although some advance warning or some sort of API option in the game configuration window.
ROBLOX seems to have something against CFraming stuff, because none of their tools support it, and that really is a detriment to building.
And there _IS_ no reason to use hopperbins, or at least not that I see.

| They're only real use is the capability to detect the pressing of numbers, but otherwise they're useless. |

Not all games that use the build tools are focused on building, but the drag tool is still a major part of the game. Case in point being just about every Survival game on Roblox. |

Hopperbins still work in play solo, luckily. I cannot stand any of the new tools out there. I've never seen anything that works like those hopper bins do, and they keep limiting the hopper bins, but even with the limitations, such as the lack of rotating and zooming while using them, and copying parts on top of your head, they still work better than any other tool I've come across so far.
The move tool moves parts relative to where you grabbed them, meaning I can put parts into tight spaces very easily. Move tools will grab the middle of the part, and make it impossible to move with great accuracy. It's also much faster to use a move tool over a CFrame tool, using the command prompt, and probably, over using move axis and any of these plugins people are using.
@Quenty, in short, I completely disagree. It's all based on preference. I am a great builder (as other people have stated,) and I use hopper bins all of the time. The only one I'll replace is the copy tool, since it no longer spawns bricks on top of the old brick.
I don't even know why the hopperbins are deprecated. :/ Very useful.
What's the sense in having a tool with a handle when you have no use for the handle.

| There is one scripted version that I know of which is very similar the classic tools. Some guy made a tool which you can scroll through the four of them using the Q and E keys. It's pretty cool. I can't figure out how he managed to make them so similar though. http://www.roblox.com/Scripted-Classic-Build-Tools-Demo-place?id=65409281 |

@Quenty: Survival 303 and Apoc. Rising were both broken when Roblox updated, and only recieved a custom tool because it was pretty much required. In addition, speaking for Survival 303, the custom tool is only there for as long as it takes for Roblox to get the GameTool working again. |

"Why would you just break them completely? They are the backbone of so so so many games."
Because HopperBins use horrible ugly terrible kludges that are so terrible that they'd scare any rational scripter who would learn about them and that the scripter would beg ROBLOX to remove them forever just to make sure he cannot use them because of how kludgy they are.
"since HopperBin objects are deprecated anyways and are in no way guaranteed to be supported in the future"
Oh, so they're deprecated, now? That's cool. What about you actually update the object browser the next time you deprecate something?
Neither the object browser or the wiki indicates them as deprecated. |
