I was just kidding about the name. But I think we should all just get ironnoob accounts.

| You're not required to put in that. After all, not everyone has a FB or Twitter account. |

I honestly don't see the point. Just put contact info on blurbs? |

| What about people who are banned/quit? This doesn't have to be just for contact info. We can use it to recognize each other's accomplishments. |

Huh, I never thought it about it that way. I suppose it could be, if enough people want it to.

Not really. Our best bet is having ROBLOX forward PM's from our best friends into our email or something that goes to our "real" lives if we ever quit.
Also, this "No thanks, I don't want people I know in real life knowing I play Roblox."
Proves the state ROBLOX is in right now. |

"In order to authenticate, you'd have to log in using your ROBLOX account. This will involve sending a POST request to m.roblox.com and then reading to output to determine if you are authenticated"
No. Just generate a hash and ask the user to put it in their blurb to make sure it's actually them. |

I wonder where you got that idea from. :P |

| Use the PM verification method. We use it at LuaLearners (or did, I think we use some weird code thing now on the user description...) |

| The reason the others failed was because they didn't offer anything unique or interesting enough to get people to join. What's going to be different here? |

We tried IRC, we tried encrypted F2F chat... srsly

Can we throw in a project DB as well? |

| Instead of logging in, just have the person supply .ROBLOSECURITY and do a GET for profile and parse that. Then you only have a session instead of the entire user/pass pair. |

@Render
No offense, but I'd argue that's even worse than my own idea. You can easily change user/pass pairs, while .ROBLOSECURITY remains the same for a while.
@popin +project db +plugin repo +forums that don't suck +place reviews +trade finder
Maybe moving the focus away from scripters and focusing on the general masses would be beneficial. We could always have an invite-only forum (or something that required you to answer some scripting questions)

First of all, I don't think any of us want either of these - Give out our ROBLOX pass - Give out our ROBLOX security / account
Leaving us with these options - Hash in profile
However, no one wants to join the website unless it's interesting, so please, work on that part. :) |

Maybe I should allow anyone to make modifications, but at the end it'll ask them to put a certain hash on their profile.
Then I have a cron job that gets run, say, every 5 minutes that goes to each profile, checks for the hash, and then either authorizes/destroys the modifications (modifications wouldn't go live until authorized.)
And then it links the two accounts together for further modifications.

All pages are open until the actual account owner takes over? Reputation system to block untrustworthy leechers?
Why not use a PM account/bot? The server adds a key per username, then checks the messages of the account for the appropriate key every ten minutes. You'll receive an update via PM if authentication succeeded. |

I still like the hash idea better, it's the most comfortable to use.
