I thought of building and scripting a more fluid and reliable weapon set using Reditors engine. I'm calling these "Nightmare Core" rifles. I planned on these using some features such as first person, heartbeat sensor, recharge, and auto-aim.
These will be plasma like weapons, firing obviously plasma rays, the simple animation I'm doing is the visible fluid in the weapons tube lines and battery. When it fires it will give off a short muzzle flare, a sort of color same as the fluid.
However I'm not sure this is exactly a big change in weapons, so I wondered if you guys, the community, could post some ideas on what could a weapon more agile and style wise, unique.

I don't know about unlimited ammo, I think I have an idea of a "Charge Tower" could be a feature for that.
Explosive rounds are a good idea, I could have a few modes and one would include that. Probably be nice to leave acid in the aftermath.
No reload, my good man, we all love da' reload! :D |

explosive rounds with plasma weapons, that makes no sense
explosions will cause lag anyways |

| In reply to that, Plasma could be chemically explosive, but not like oil, or fire type of explosives. Have a look at some games such as Ratchet & Clank. Also explosives can lag only if they are handled the wrong way. |

Make it kill everyone in the whole map with one shot.
Nah, just kidding.
But, seriously, make the weapons have multiple-abilities, I havn't seen that yet. Like, for example, let it shot normally, but, then, maybe make it so after you fire normally for a bit, you can fire an explosive up to 100-250 studs. |

| You could also make one of those guns where when all the bullets are out, it's scrap metal. A lot of Halo guns are like that, and the M72 LAW from WWII. Idk, just thought of that. :P |

| Have the fluid drain as the ammo goes and when you reload the fluid refills. |

That was the plan, the battery pack, and plasma fluid will work off each other like that. This gun will also be coming with a HUD mostly likely, that way it's user friendly and they can understand all the weapons modes and controls. Also, I have another idea.
Elements
Switch out the core elements of the weapon from plasma, magma, electric, acid, etc. Again, that is kind of an idea from Ratchet & Clank...that or I can make players have the ability to customize the weapons colors.
Which is easy to do using the getChildren method, lol. |
