Note-reposted to clear up some mistakes made
After Julius Caesar ascended to take the throne of Rome in 44 BCE, the former Republic entered a new Golden Age. Senate, dissatisfied with their decreased authority, was removed from power forcibly by the new dict.ator. The rest of the government were left as figureheads. Despite this, the populace widely supported Caesar, who led his legions to gain new lands for the Empire. The Romans flourished, defeating all others before them... until they clashed with the Golden Horde.
The Mongolian spearhead descended upon the grand architecture of the Empire with ferocious force, pillaging and burning all in their path. By the time that Europe was completely liberated from Genghis's descendants and the Mongol Horde fell from power in the face of popular dissent in both Europe and Asia, the conquered lands had become so different that unity among them was impossible. The Byzantines, the first unified state to rise from the ashes, held onto Rome jealously, keeping the original Capitol to themselves. As the Iberians, British, Gauls, Slavs, and Scandinavians united into new nations, the jingoism of the shattered Empire rose to the forefront, and competition was inevitable.
A war between alliances resulted in terrible depopulation, ending only once they felt that losses had reached unacceptable levels. From then onwards, the European nations looked outwards for new territory instead of fighting over that of Europe. The resulting period of competition over territory in the Americas and trade with Africa and Asia stimulated technological development.
Hyper-development of industry was soon to follow, leading many nations into conflict with each other over previously untouched resources. The forefront of this being development into far more questionable fields, developments that would soon cause the world to suffer. No one is quite sure what caused it, but in the Arctic a flash of light, as if a second sun had come into existence. Not a soul could have foreseen the devastation as ice turned to ocean and the Seas raised in the heat of the ato.mic fireball. Nations turned to each other in blind rage, desperately struggling over the remnants of the world's landmasses... -TECH- Due to how the world has been changed, fuel has become a rare commodity. Oil burning ships have become vastly inefficient compared to other methods. Yet due to the clever work of several individuals, vessels are now capable of running off electric engines. These same electric engines run everything from battleships to airships, solar power collecting energy during the day while batteries run through the night. In turn though aviation has taken the brunt of it.
Aircraft are now limited, with planes needing a lighter weight to handle longer trips on battery charge. Leaving many nations to abandon aviation for anything other then transport, this in turn has caused combat aircraft to become a rare sight, though still a threat to any unprepared commander.
The covert project to produce nuc.le.ar weaponry was annihilated after the test of super high-yield fusion bombs that melted Antarctica. Nobody has superweapons of that caliber.

--Bio-- Na.me:Ralis Lorain A.ge: 28 Ge.nder: Guy Appearance: 5'5" with rather pale skin, His left eye is Dark green and the right a Deep blue. He has short dark crimson hair with a trimmed beard. He is of reasonable build though a little on the lean side. he wears a Red shirt and Black pants underneath a Dark grey greatcoat, with a matching Patrol cap. aside from this he has a Pair of Black boots and Red half fingered gloves. Usually lugging around a Deer leather satchel, He appears to have a slight limping gait as well.
Personality: N/A History: Fairly known for having background connections in the Prussian political system, Ralis had become somewhat known for pulling strings to get things. Though with the political climate changing, along with some poor decisions that left him some enemies. Ralis has pulled strings to gain command of a vessel, leaving him as a rather inexperienced captain on board a somewhat outdated vessel.

-Ship Format- Name: Ravens Eye Class: Essen Heavy Cruiser Role:Long Range Bombardment Description: Consisting of a Long low profile, It mounts two Large turrets just in front of the Bridge superstructure. Towards the aft of the ship is a set of three smokestacks, refitted as Solar towers after the Arctic incident. in front of and behind these stacks rest Large Turrets, leaving a total of Four. At each side there is 3 Smaller turrets, Two at the solar tower sides and one at the Superstructure sides. Aside from this the vessel has rather thick belt armor but poor deck armor, Along with having slow Engines. Four single 40mm AA guns surround the Super structure, while a dual 40mm AA gun rests at the absolute rear of the ship.
it is roughly 510ft long, with a beam of 62ft across bulges and a draft of 20.2ft fully loaded.
Armament: Four Dual 8inch turrets 400 rounds each turret, Six Dual 6inch turrets, 400 rounds each. one Dual 40mm AA turret, four single 40mm AA turrets.
Notes:Fairly small for a Heavy cruiser, it is only called such due to the weapon caliber. Though this is still fairly earned from the amount of armor piled on. several problems linger from the hasty conversion from Oil burning to electric. |

Ralis stood on the bridge of the Raven's Eye, they were six days out of Port . the weather was fairly easy for the moment with few clouds. He checked his pocket watch "8:51" it was still fairly early in the day. he took a slight breath, there was suppose to be a trade convoy they were to meet up with not far from port. Yet here they were with no sign of the trade convoy anywhere. he looked to the radio operator "Anyone?" the man just shook his head, stating "Nope..." |

| The Hanover was anchored at a shallow, flooded island. Underwater, but shallow enough that the Hanover's anchors could grapple onto the bottom of it. The ship was running at full capacity, with shells being loaded and guns at the ready. Radar detects nothing so far, and so the Hanover pulls up its anchors and starts its propellers, hoping to find a rogue ship or trade convoy to raid and board. |

Ralis called "Bring engines to full, We've been sitting here for two days waiting...Set course towards their last known route" the sound of bells rung in the engine room as the propellers were brought to full, with a slight shake the Ravens eye begun moving. heading out along the Trade route to investigate what had happened to the convoy. |

From the bridge, a voice booms out on the Hanover. Hans's loud voice, with the simple orders of.
"Set course to the port of Neo Prussia, we should encounter a trade convoy their. Disable its engines if you find one, and board it. I want those ships alive." He proceeds to leave the bridge to look over gunnery crews near the bow of the Hanover. |

| The SMS Hanover, at its speed of 32 Knots, cruises in the open ocean two days south of Neo Prussia. The Hanover launches its scout planes to look for any ships, and with much luck, a small trade convoy is found. It is going at an estimated speed of 18-22 knots. The Hanover turns, slowly to realign to move to engage this convoy. The convoy's makeup is two trade vessels, and a small escort vessel. |

| The Ravens eye was moving fast, the Radio operator finally made a statement "Captain? Trade convoy finally caught on channel, Seems they have engine problems and are slowed down" Ralis grumbled and said "perfect, so their pretty much slow moving treasure hordes, Helm! correct course towards the trade convoy" the radioman stated "They haven't seen anything to suspicious though, so seems their being ignored" |

The Hanover gets within engagement range quickly, opening fire first and asking questions never. It comes up to the side of the escort vessel, launching two torpedoes to hopefully sink it before it realigns while losing speed to come up behind the trade vessels. Several more torpedoes are fired, at the propellers specifically in order to take them out without sinking the vessels.
The torpedoes hit, with the escort having one hit and the other miss. It sinks either way. The trade convoys are large, with a massive backside to be hit. They lose speed quickly as most of their propulsion is destroyed. The Hanover maneuvers itself up to the side of one and boarding ropes are tossed onto the side of the hull as they are secured for this vessel to be dragged into the nearby port of Galhenis to be... refitted for the fleet. The other trade convoy has several shells fired into it, sinking it quickly. |

| The Radioman nearly jumps as he tosses his headset to the desk, shaking his head. he shouted "I don't know What the hell just happened, I was still in contact with them and a blast sounded over the radio before it went dead" Ralis stared at him for a moment before looking full ahead, shouting "Flank Speed! Ready the guns!" alarms sounded across the ship as crew took battle positions, the engines being pushed into overdrive to crank out 40knt speed... |

The scout planes the Hanover launched sight the Raven Knot coming up on the Hanover quickly, they radio back in a panicked voice.
"We have a Heavy Cruiser coming up on us, prepare for contact." The scout planes begin to move to circle around in the sky over the Raven Knot as the Hanover prepares for contact. Hans also returns to the bridge at this news, entering with a loud bellow.
"What contact do we have coming up on us?"
"Heavy Cruiser Sir!" The radioman quickly barks back
Hans ponders for just a moment before replying to him. "Tell the gunners to be on full alert, drop our catch for now. We will retrieve it at a later time."
The guns turn on the Hanover, preparing to face the Raven Knot with a full barrage of all of her guns when she is within range. |
