Chapter 1:
As the three young children approached the dark room, a light flickered on. "What do you think you're doing in here?!" screeched a familiar voice, their father. The brothers turned around, seeing the door opening. "Oh, father! We were about to-" "I don't care what you were about to do, get back to bed!" And with that, he opened the door and shooed them out. "Father's no fun!" Said the youngest, JJ. "But he's right, we should be in bed..." Replied Oyi, yawning. "You're so boring!" Grinned Forgo, climbing the ladder onto his bunk bed. "G'night..." And he fell asleep, snoring. Oyi closed his eyes, sleepily.
Oyi was woken by a sound. His brothers were still fast asleep. He rose from his bunk. "H-hello?" He whispered, venturing into the darkness. He saw a dark figure lumbering through the dark. He was thrown into a mysterious dream-like world, floating on a purple disc.

Oyi stared around the chasm of shadows, "Who are you-where am I-what is this place?!" He screamed into the darkness below, knowing no-one would reply. But he was caught out- It was like a hissing noise, but it started to sound like a voice. 'Help!' It seemed to say, 'Turn back!' It turned into, then, forming in the pitch darkness, a gigantic purple spirit, it looked like a dragon, opened its' wide jaws over Oyi, pulling him back into the real world...
Oyi could still hear the cries, and the hisses, then the voice: "You brought meeee the wrong onnnnneeee!" The hissing voice whispered. He looked around the room. Nothing different, nothing strange. What had just happened? Oyi looked down. He was covered in litres and litres of sweat. Then he remembered. He had just been eaten by a dragon, this was slobber. "Eeeeeh!" Oyi exclaimed, running into the bathroom. |

-FORGO'S EXPERIENCE-
Forgo stood on his Dream Mountain, gazing at the chasm below. In a moment it all went black. He was falling into the gorge! Surely he couldn't die in a dream?
But Forgo wasn't falling. Instead he was being dragged through the air by what looked like a gigantic rock creature. It's eye's were blood red, tiny purple pupils, and what looked like, all over his muscled rock-arms, were green vines, or green cement that was holding him together. Forgo wrestled against the rocky fists that were holding him prisoner. As he was young, he was small, so he acted dead. The giant dropped him down on the grass. Forgo opened his eyes wide and ran, down the valley. The giant caught him easily, grabbing him with his mountainous fists.
"NO! LET ME GO!" Forgo squealed as the giant rammed into him. It pulled a rock planted deep in the earth, right above its' head. It threw the rock into the gorge. The golem grabbed Forgo and shoved him into a purple cave of shadow. As soon as Forgo was in, the giant stood at the entrance, blocking any way out....
"Noooooooooootttttttt ssssssssooooooo ffffaaaaaasssssssttttt...." Forgo heard a screeching hiss of a voice, he had to cover his ears, it was so high. "Where am I-Who are you-Why am I-" Forgo's questions were stopped. "SSSSSSSILENCE!!" The voice screeched. "B-b-but....I want to-" Forgo was cut short again. "You ssshall sssspeak when you are sssssspoken tooooo! And only then!" It hissed furiously. "Nowww, I sssshall tell you why you are here, Forgo Jakob. You are here beeeecaussssse I havvvve known from the sssecond you and your brotherssss were-" "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY BROTHERS!?" Forgo screamed, still not daring to move. "Nothing.....It'sssss what they will do to yoooooou." It seemed to purr, then laugh. "What? My brother's would never hurt me...You never told me why I was brought half-way down my Dream Mountain-" "HAHAHA! 'Your Dream Mountain'? THAT'S HILARIOUSSSSSS!" It kept laughing, then stopped, something fell out of the darkness... "W-w-who are you?" Forgo ventured, shyly. "I am what you sssshall ssssomeday become. I am you." At that moment, Forgo thought that this 'spirit' was crazy. And so, that's what he said. "I'LL NEVER BECOME SOME OLD HERMIT OF A SNAKE!" He shouted at the top of his voice. "Bbbbut you aaaarrrrrrre Fffforrrrrgo Jaaaaakkkkkooobbb, yessss?" Forgo was thrown into another dimension before he could answer. Everything around him was dark, except where he was standing. It looked like a purple disc. "What have you done to me, spirit?" That was what he thought the voice was, just a spirit. Forgo could only hear a mighty roar. He tried to look around him, but he couldn't see anything but blackness. |

He woke up, snapping out of sleep. It looked like he was covered in sweat, then he remembered. He had been standing on a purple disc, then he could only think of two dark, purple eyes that were double his size, glaring down at him, then a gigantic beak opened, and he was thrown into the darkness of the dragon's mouth.
Forgo tried to wash the slobber off before Oyi and JJ woke. He tried to run into the small bathroom, but it was locked, and he could see through the holes in the door that the light inside the bathroom was on. Forgo was confused. Had the same dream disturbed his brothers? Had the spirit consulted them too? He headed back into his room, to find if Oyi and JJ were still asleep. And when he found that Oyi was missing, he knew he was right.
JJ was fine, he was still asleep, but what was he dreaming about? Forgo could only wish that it was a good dream, and not his nightmare that Oyi and himself and experienced. |

JJ'S EXPERIENCE-
JJ woke up in an abandoned tunnel. He could see light above him, but he was still spooked out, and confused by why he woke here. Then he looked around the tunnel more, and saw that there was a route into a pool of warm water. As he tip-toed closer to the pool, he found some clothes on the rock beside him. He picked them up. Were these Forgo's Pyjamas? JJ rubbed his head, then he took his bed-clothes off and jumped into the pool.
Strangely, Forgo was swimming around in the little lake. JJ saw him and called him, "Froggy! Over here!" JJ giggled, mischievously. Forgo swam over to him. "Oh, hey!" He grinned. "What took you so long?" Forgo asked his youngest brother, "I've been waiting for you to wake up for ages!" "You have? Why? Where's Oyi go-" "Oyi's not here..." Forgo sighed. "Listen, I thought that you were having a nightmare...so I brought you down here because-" "Where's Dad?" "Oh, I didn't want to tell him in-case I got us into trouble..." Forgo seemed to be hiding something. "I didn't have a nightmare...." JJ squeaked and dived into the water, playing and splashing Forgo. |

CHAPTER 2
The rays of sunlight shone through the gap above the tunnel. JJ looked up, thinking about their father and his reaction of finding two of his sons missing. "What're we goin' to do?" JJ asked Forgo. "You don't think I got in THAT way, carrying you?" Forgo giggled, pointing at the gap, then at JJ. "No, even I couldn't carry your heavy-weight down here in the middle of the night!" JJ sighed, "No. I just thought, as I woke up here, that we would be stuck." Forgo led JJ through the rocky maze, explaining why he had brought JJ down there. "So...basically, you thought Oyi was in the bath, trying to hide something? And then you carried ME down here for a WASH!? You know I don't like having baths!" He cried, jabbing Forgo in the stomach. "But...what could the dream mean? A giant rock-monster-man grabbing you from the Dream Mountain?!" JJ found this part quite funny. "Oi!" Forgo nudged him. "I could leave you down here, all alone, never to be found! Or, you could stop laughing and I'll get us out." He carried on with the story, and ending with the giant dragon. "Awesome!" JJ loved dragons. "I want that dream...." "No, you really don't! There was a weird snaky voice...he was saying I would turn into it." He replied. "Oh....!" JJ sighed and ran on ahead. |

Forgo climbed back into his bed, trying to get to sleep. Their father hadn't found out that they had vanished halfway through the night. "Phhhheeeeeeeeew!" Forgo exhaled when he was back in his dream, standing on the great slab of rock, as tall as the Highest Mountain in the whole of Kentonia. He thought about what the spirit had told him, that this was his destiny. "P-please..." He thought, his eyes closing. "You can not avoid your desssstiny...." The voice sounded. Forgo's eyelids flicked open. No-one there. He turned around, getting onto his feet.
There, red in the eyes, teeth like claws, ribcage showing, stood Forgo. But was this really his future-self? "Please!" Forgo growled. "Youuuuu cannot avoid it.....Your desssssssstiny isss thisss!" Forgo knew it was true. "B-but...what will happen? Please, warn me of what awaits!"

CHAPTER 3- THE BOOK OF SECRETS
Oyi was fixing something in his father's Workshop. His father had told the three of them that he had to go away for a few days, and that Forgo would be in charge. Only Oyi and JJ were in the Workshop. "Where's Froggy?" JJ asked curiously. Oyi had to think. "I dunno. Maybe I should go find him." He ruffled JJ's hair and ran towards the Workshop door. He strained to open it. "Uh...JJ...where'd ya put the key?" "I didn't have the key, YOU did!" "Uh oh." "FROGGY! LET ME GO! I NEED TO POOP!" "But you just went to the loo!" "I know, but I'm trying to trick him into opening it." "Ah, good idea!" The two whispered. At that moment, Oyi kicked the door, trying to push it open. He misjudged his timing, and fell backwards, onto a floorboard. "Ugh...." JJ helped him up. "Wait...what's THAT?" JJ had noticed a large, hard-covered book. Oyi peeled the floorboard away and picked the thick book up with both hands. "What is it?" JJ poked the book and revealed, under the curtain of dust, the title and a chestnut coloured cover. "THE BOOK OF SECRETS? Sounds cool." He grabbed the book from Oyi and ran around the room, hiding in a large dustbin-shaped bucket. He managed to peel the contents page off. "Haha!" He giggled, this would be it! He would unlock all the knowledge in Kentonia! |
