Sea Shepherd And Whales Many people think whales are just another species who are endangered but don't really take action to stop that. Sea Shepherd actually interfere with whaling. Japanese Whalers are killing whales illegally but say it is for scientific research. If it were for scientific research why do they take the leftover whale meat and sell it in Japanese markets? Give me an answer to that!
Sea Shepherd And Dolphins Sea Shepherd Interferes with the killing of dolphins in Taiji, Japan. The dolphins that are captured are either kept in captivity for amusement parks or are killed and sold to markets as well. When they are killed and taken to markets they are MISLABELED and sell them as WHALE. If the Japanese knew that they were eating dolphins they would stop. Cove Guardian Scott West mentioned that there meat was mislabeled as whale.
Sea Shepherd And Seals The world's largest and cruelest marine mammal slaughter of 85,000 still-nursing baby seal pups begins annually on July 1st in Namibia.Inhumane, illegal, unsustainable and unethical, many conservation groups violently oppose the slaughter. While filming the cull is illegal, Sea Shepherd, who has a long legacy of defending seals around the world, aims to end this slaughter once and for all.
Sea Shepherd And Bluefin Tuna For millions of years, the most incredible of all the world’s fishes has swum our oceans. The bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) is the fastest fish in the sea, one of the largest fish in the ocean, and a marvel of creation – unique in that is a warm-blooded animal.. This allows them to inhabit areas of the ocean that are very cold.Bluefin tuna (BFT) are one of the top predators of the seas – they eat just about anything and travel great distances, swimming up to 55 miles per hour, to find their prey. Through tagging programs they have been found feeding from the surface down to 3,000 feet. Very few people have ever seen them while diving or snorkeling, as they typically inhabit deep waters.
Sea Shepherd And The Galapagos Since 2000, Sea Shepherd has maintained a strong, positive presence in the Galapagos Islands. From patroling the Marine Reserve stopping illegal fishing activities, to busting shark finners, to educating the local youth, Sea Shepherd carries out its mission of promoting ocean conservation using a wide range of methods and actions. The Galapagos is our line in the sand. If humanity cannot protect such a unique and diverse ecosystem, we will not be able to protect any ecosystem. The Galapagos is a challenge and battlefield for the effort to halt human greed and destruction. These Enchanted Isles are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and this means all of us have a responsibility to help protect them from illegal exploitation.
Sea Shepherd And Sharks With 90% of the world's large shark populations already wiped out, sharks are being depleted faster than they can reproduce. This threatens the stability of marine ecosystems around the world. Sharks are vitally important apex predators. They have shaped marine life in the oceans for over 400 million years and are essential to the health of the planet, and ultimately to the survival of mankind. Sea Shepherd patrols marine protected areas, exposing the corruption that drives this multi-billion dollar industry and directly intervening to stop the brutal slaughter of sharks.
Sea Shepherd And The Gulf Of Mexico Oil Spill Sea Shepherd's Operation Gulf Rescue Continues Six Months After Spill - Wednesday will mark six months since BP's oil began spewing into the Gulf of Mexico last April. The oil is no longer flowing from the well, but the impact from the use of "dispersant" chemicals that have been sprayed all over the water and coastal areas, continues. The devastation to marine life and entire ecosystems from this environmental disaster is just beginning to be understood. |

| @PWNZERKNIT Clearly you do not understand. bluefin tuna are endangered. you eating a tuna sandwich does not change anything. there are many tune species around the world. sea shepherd is focusing on bluefin because they are nearly extinct. you probably ate a tuna sandwich from a species that wasnt endangered. you cant read can you? go to school man. |
