First off, I would like to state some simple, undeniable facts. In justgoaway1's era, it was tough to be a VS member. Trainings were rare, as there were only around twenty people with the privelages to do so, and as an addition, since most of these trainings consisted of sword free-for-alls that required a screenshot and a PM to the trainer. Because of this, many trainers got spammed out, and could not give everyone a promotion who deserved one. Also, many members had horrible grammar, manners, and people skills in general. Low ranks were overdominant, and a promotion to Captain, the first High Rank, was even more scarce than a promotion to a low rank. It was not a very productive group. So how, you ask, did it gain 80k members in a matter of months? The answer is pretty simple. Technology. The first VS forts, among these being Fort Vulcan 1.0, VS Headquarters 1.0, and the Recruitment Center & Harbor, were the best things that could happen to a group. "Why?" you ask. "Those forts were primitive. A pile of bricks with some simple guns and vehicles. How could things such as those start something so big?" Well, the answer to this question is also very simple. They were fun to play. They were made playable BECAUSE of the lack of technology. The minor details were, well, minor details, as they should be. The guns didn't have fancy ammo GUIs, nor did they save on death. There wasn't a fancy capture system. No custom chat GUIs. If you went to the fort, all you'd see is a large structure, guarded by a large amount of members. Players actually enjoyed the ambiguity of keeping their ranks a secret, being able to fight with simplistic weapons, and the perks of being in the division they were in. As mentioned earlier, a key detail was the size and depth of the structures. This allowed for people with special privelages to enter special areas. There was nothing to stop disgruntled low ranks to break in to Sector Two in Fort Vulcan, save the high ranks and company themselves. Low ranks were curious; what was in there that was so exciting? They knew they'd be punished if they went in. So how could they look inside, and still be on good terms with the group? Simple. Rank up. Raiders alike began to crave the power and satisfaction that being behind that large, concrete wall would give. As a result, servers were filled with motivated Vortex Security soldiers as well as curious raiders, resulting in front-page status a countless number of times. The success of this game led to the great population boom that made Vortex Security the superclan it is today. Now, let's look at the current situation. Vortex Security has reformed itsself several times, each time bringing something new and effective to the table. Now, we have about three thousand members that have devoted themselves completely to the cause of VS, an excellent system of evaluating possible High Ranks, divisions that you actually have to work for to get in, a system of keeping high ranks active and holding daily events, as well as a new form of multiple activity trainings. (Love him or hate him, but none of that would exist without chibitobi.) The catch? Our current technology. The guns are beautifully built, with an intuitive ammunition GUI and anti-wallshoot script, a strightforward, easy to use capture system, and fair terms for both raiders and VS. All this, as opposed to our old, primitive technology, has only been able to attract at most, in it's entire history, three half-full servers. There's definately an air of defiance; you can see it in VS members who break the rules. At our fort, they want to break them, but they just can't, due to the anti-TK, uniform generator, and lolcat censor. This can be attributed to trainings with bad behavior or lack of effort. It's because the HQ prevents them from attempting to break the rules that they're motivated to do as such in any way possible. At the old Fort Vulcan, you could teamkill, swear, insult high ranks, and hop into Sector Two. Some got away with it, yes. But those who were punished for it were able to awknoledge the maturity level and behavior standard set by VS. Basically, they understood that the high ranks were powerful things, and they were not. This was a motivation to make an attempt at succeeding in VS. In fact, many converted raiders now make up the loyal ranks of VS:HR. They gained respect for VS through these forts. VS:HR has only really began to awknoledge the need for these disciplinary "holes", if you will, by enforcing the wearing of a VS Uniform to any given VS event. Uniform generators are now a no-no. But my point is, the uniforms on scratch the surface! These forts, which hold so many fond memories, are the reason VS is what it is today! If we combined our new discoveries in the secrets of an active clan with our strongest attribute from the past, Vortex Security could rise from a GREAT group to an EXCEPTIONAL group! The old forts are all that's missing from this perfect image, which is why I propose that we bring them back, this time for good!
Thank you for reading, I hope you'll support me on this one.

Also, that is exactly the reason why TD climbed above VS and got the status of 2nd Most Popular Group. They had a game, and it was fun, so people played it. Since the game belonged to a group, they joined it for the same reasons.

Same here. I thought the fort was cool, so I joined. Over time, I've noticed a pattern. I've heard other high ranks talking about joining in this manner as well.

Also, sorry about the lack of formatting. Writing essays fries my brain to the point where it's about as useful as a brick.

@ibsonic,
VS is the third most popular group on Roblox, with 90k members. I'd be proud of I were the owner. |

FEAR is a fine clan. It's amount of members is there to prove it. It's had it's ups and downs just like VS has.

The special things that VS divisions had like going into S2 did very much interest me. I started becoming active and with that goal to become a HR and have all of that access, I went from Private to Captain in less than a week. Chibi/Aric's era.

I guess I was one of the lucky few to be promoted to Captain back then. Skipped two ranks in the process.
