When a new Limited comes out, there are 3 basic things that can happen:
1. Failure - the original price was too high or there were too many in stock, resulting in the item selling lower than the original price.
2. Profit - the item consistently sells 1.42x the original price (70% marketplace fee), resulting in a profit for those who bought it as it was selling out.
3. No-Profit Zone - this is the name for the deadly space between failure and profit, where the item sells above the original price, but below the price needed to make a profit with the marketplace fee.
The people who bought it before it sold out lost because they can't sell it high enough to break even with the robux they spent on it.
The people who didn't buy it before it sold out lost because they could have gotten it cheaper if they bought it originally. |

Yes, but when you say "this item will fail" and after it sells out it's selling slightly above the original price, people think you were wrong. This term is an easy way to explain that it may sell slightly higher than original price, but it's not a good investment. |
