With The Sims 3 and Minecraft, (which are two games ROBLOX users have attempted to clone, by the way) it is very easy to walk away from ROBLOX, especially after the horrible updates.
The updates never made ANYTHING look better, never improved anything, never made anything faster. There doesn't seem to be a ny reason for their existance at all. And now that they have realeased their new blog post about "Prototyping the future look of ROBLOX", walking away is so very easy. I really do want to leave, but I have friends here, and I had some dreams sparked here as well.
My first one was to work for ROBLOX. When they began ignoring my e m a i l s, I was ticked. They then starting creating stupid updates like the ugly nav bar and some unknown update that kept crashing Studio. That shattered.
Then I wanted to be a game developer. Not on those "games" in ROBLOX. Real games that could be published for public purchase. Real games that people can enjoy. And I know to learn from the mistakes of the people who work on ROBLOX.
Their mistake was that they stopped listening to their customers in an attempt to get more customers. Doesn't exactly make sense.
I had loved ROBLOX back in late 2010 and early 2011. I loved to build, make friends, create intricate fortresses. Then they were crushed under a boatload of crappy updates and idiot newcomers to ROBLOX (sorry if I'm being a little dramatic).
But that is what ROBLOX is coming to. I know now that they have gone too far with their updates to back down. And it is only getting worse. |
