Well, lets look at the odds. So far, since 2004, we havn't had one year that didn't smash records. The southeast is experiencing severe thunderstorms , tornado outbreaks, and heat waves of 80 degrees in the winter time!! Last year the winter was similar to this one, and we experienced the hottest, driest, second most extreme year on record! We are also still experiencing a major drought (last years was worse than the dust bowl!!) and the lows are still above average and will stay that way for the south, the rain forest is still the driest its ever been, even though its winter the northern ice cap[ hasn't recovered at all, and the north is experiencing some of the coldest temperatures ever recorded, primarily due to a disturbance in the pacific, which was super-charged by climate change. The world economic forum fears that in 2013 we will experience a food and water crisis, and record breaking severe weather will greatly damage the economy. It is also feared that considering its winter and the drought from 2012 hasn't improved much, that 2013 will see an even more severe drought. The ice sheets of greenland were confirmed by nasa to have pretty much completely vanished last summer, something never seen before!! The northern ice cap was at a RECORD LOW. The northern glaciers are almost gone. Pretty much there is a 97% chance 2013 will be record breaking.

How could the ice sheets of Greenland vanish? That would be massive news considering everything in the centre of Greenland is not land and is in fact water. People living there would have drowned.

"predicting weather from past experience is mostly inaccurate >primarily due to a disturbance in the pacific, which was super-charged by climate change. evidence? did you know severe thunderstorms in the south is typical in winter >lows 5 degrees above average >blaming it on global warming not valid doubt 2013 will be extreme " Actually, severe thunderstorms are extremely rare in the winter, yes even in the south. Did you know in north carolina, which is far from the south, had a heat wave up to 80 degrees? IN WINTER! Severe thunderstorms are not common in the south in winter, the south is not a rain forest. In fact, 2013 is already extreme, with several heat records broken in the south and the east. |

Face it mario, record-breaking severe weather is the new normal, and if we don't reduce our emissions of green-house-gasses, it will only get much, much worse!

@Base, do you know what repeative threads are? Its a bunch of the EXACT same thread!! I am posting several threads on the same topic. @ Mario, its not just tornado's. Its winter time, the east just got out of a january heat wave along with the south east, severe thunderstorms blanketed the south and the east, along with flash flooding in louisiana. Watch this video, and you will understand: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6J-D2Awih4 You live in the north, which is not having that extreme of effects yet, but here in the south it is becoming more brutal than it already was! All coastal cities will go underwater, including lockport, if action is not taken. We are already seeing this happen, native americans are very angry as one of there villages went underwater last summer, and now they too are demanding action on climate change.
