I figured out a way to make a game without characters at all. No "Waiting for Character" either.

| It's obvious that this isn't a real game. Firstly, it's absurd to assume that we can even create games without characters. Secondly, we all know the GUI update can be used to make GUIs that play videos. He obviously created a video for every possible frame with respect to camera angle and FoV. I can't believe you expect people to fall for your parlor magic. Making jokes and acting like they're legit is a shameful thing. |

Aw man, you got me.
So seriously, is this old news or...? I find it hard to believe no one has figured this out yet, it's easy. |

Since when is making a game without characters supposed to be hard? Just put the following script in the StarterGui and never make the player respawn:
wait(2) script.Parent.Parent.Character = nil
It's not like it's hard or like nobody has figured it out before... |

Am I missing something or are you really talking about what I was talking about in my past message? Really, I've seen plenty of GUI games without characters. It's nothing hard to do.
If you don't want your game to have characters, you just... well... duh, remove the character! |

I know an even simpler way
local game = ""
BOOM! No more characters, just an empty array! |

@Tenal: not the purpose of this post. You've successfully outed yourself as an idiot so many times already, why continue?
@everyone else: Why are you guys so hostile? It's simple sharing of information for those who don't already know.
Tenal, your post about whether or not scripting is too hard to learn is completely wrong. The problem is the hostility of the existing scripting community - or at least, the ones that pretend to be members of the scripting community.
No one wants to learn if they're scolded for it. |

Mmh, I think everyone missed the point here unless I'm just crazy.
Did you script set our character to nil? Or was it a fancy hax that stopped our character from parenting to nil? |

Sigh, I failed that post. What I meant is :

| Looking back, my method is probably over-convoluted. But basically, it just does away with characters entirely. Character auto-loading is off. |

Wait... little question here...
Did your script disable Players.CharacterAutoLoads? |

I think I get what you've done. I've never seen it before, either.
Our HealthGui isn't showing, but I have two possibilities for that : either you removed it or our character was never parented to Workspace, thus, our Health script never parenting the GUI in our PlayerGui. If it's the second case, I have two options there, too. Either you fancy-hax'd a way so that our character don't get parented to Workspace, or you've changed our character's parent quickly.
If it's the first case of the second case (lol), then, amazing find. Otherwise, eh, I'm not too sure what you've been trying to achieve o.O |

| It actually fires off a script into the player before anything else has a chance to run. Let me look at how I did it... |

game.Players.PlayerAdded:connect(function(player) while true do if player:FindFirstChild("PlayerGui") then break end wait() end
player:LoadCharacter(false) player.Character.Parent = game.Lighting
local s = script.PlayerScript:Clone() s.Parent = player.PlayerGui s.Disabled = false end)
Basically, it loads the character and then reparents it basically in the same tick. The PlayerScript then waits until the character is existing yet no longer in the workspace, then it starts modifying the camera.
The result is that there's no character and you now have direct mouse access and camera access with no overhead of working around respawns and other things. You know, like a real game. |
