Has any game stood out as perfect to you? What is it? Why not reccomend it to the rest of the gamers? That's what this topic is for, reccomending good games, which have a great world, a great storyline, great gameplay and just stood out. Please though, no shooters, everybody knows about them, and many are overrated.

Well, everyone knows I could type out an entire essay on why I love my type of games, but I don't care.

The Bioshock or Fallout series games would be tied as my "perfect" games. They both feature retro settings in a world that requires you to think. The story of these games are probably my favorite feature. Bioshock is set in the '60s whenever a (seemingly) innocent man's plane crashed and he discovered an abandoned underwater city, Rapture. Bioshock 2 has the same setting, but a different story involving the "prototype" Big Daddy unit searching for his long lost little sister and getting involved in Rapture's leadership under Sofia Lamb while searching.

Fallout involves Post-Apocalyptic civilization in America hundreds of years after a nuclear war with Communist China. This is set in a Retro-Futuristic world where the world is a mix of post-war America and the world of Cyberpunk. Fallout 1 involved the player leaving their vault to find a water chip. Little did he know, his vault was the target of a huge mutant army. Fallout 2 involved the Fallout 1 character's grandchild leaving his Tribal village to find a G.E.C.K to ensure it's survival. This character runs into the remnants of Pre-War America, The Enclave.

The gameplay of Bioshock required skill to effectively combine gun and plasmid, and Fallout is easily has the best features of any RPG with VATS-mode to make the game unrealistically fun and everything else based through your Pip-boy.

It's not always that a video game alone can make me change my whole outlook on music either. That's right, the Oldies-type Blues used in the games fit the environment so well, that I'm now a fan of Louis Armstrong, The Ink Spots, and Ella Fitzgerald among others.

Killer I'd like to know, when you praise the Fallout games, does this include 3 and NV?

@Mage

Yes. Looks like I forgot to include them in the story. Whoops.

I don't get why classic Fallout players hate 3, anyway. I've played them all and I liked it. It changed from the old trilogy, but it wasn't as big and bad everyone leads on.

If you learn the controls good, it's not that bad.

Bioshock is a shooter. You really shouldn't stereotype the genre because some titles are overrated.

Batman Arkham City was perfect in my opinion, I couldn't find anything I didn't like about it.

"I couldn't find anything I didn't like about it."

I could, I wished every game had a combat system like it did.

I HIGHLY recommend Mount & Blade: Warband. It's an open-world medieval RPG (No magic). First off, The entire game is unscripted, except for the very beginning. One playthrough, Swadia may conquer the Khergits. On another, The Nords can try world domination, but be pushed to a corner by all of the other factions forming an alliance. It goes on.

And meanwhile, you have to make your own story, and put effort to fulfill the role you want. Want to become a king/queen? Earn that right to rule. Want to be a bandit? Go raid some caravans. Want to be a mercenary? Go build some fame in tournaments and such, go up to a kingdom, and offer your service. Unless you are looking a special kind of work (Mainly for quests), you will rarely get a fetch quest, and they usually are very easy. Your reputation actually matters. Drunk men looking for a fight will suddenly realize who you are and leave the tavern. People will comment on how well-known you are. If you aren't already tied by oath to a kingdom (Or you are the king/queen), you will receive offers from a faction to join then. You can have more people in your party if you are well known. I never played as an evil dude, but to be honest there is no evil in Mount & Blade. It's the kind of game where everyone is just as bad as everyone else, and there is no strict good vs evil.

Currently I'm playing as a common man who became a local hero and tournament champion, in which the Khergits saw my usefulness and hired me as a vassal. I own a village and two castles, and helped push the Swadians back to their main cities, Praven and Suno. If I wanted to, I can defect to the Swadians and help them out at retaking Dhirim and Uxkhal. I could ignore the war and focus on my own personal gain. I could defect and start my own rebel faction, but it would probably be crushed immediately. There's a ton of freedom. Also the world is very dynamic. If you were to make a new character and sit inside an inn for 100-500 days, the world would be very different from what it started as. You aren't the god-king of everything where the world turns around you. You are nothing. The world turns on its own.

And meanwhile the combat is easy to learn, difficult to master. The battles are MASSIVE, going up to 200v200 (100v100 for multiplayer), with reinforcements/multiple battle stages if there are more. It sounds like it's a total mess, but it's not. It's a Paradox game, so you may expect bugs and crashes. It's actually more polished than most Paradox games. There is a decent economy. It's not on the level of some other games, but you can buy land to be used for production (I have a tannery which makes a small amount of denars per week), play on demands and such, and a bit more. There is a ton of replay value, since it's an emergent gameplay sandbox. JUST GET IT. Last M&B sale, I gave a copy to a friend and my brother, who didn't know anything about the game. They both LOVED it. GET IT. There are also mods that completely change the game. And an active multiplayer community. Dozens of hours (Some people have hundreds, a few have over 1000) of fun for less a lunch at a fast-food restaurant. GET IT. Ignore the Metacritic score. GET IT. Do I have to say it again? GET IT.

Also, about the other M&B games, The original is outdated, but has some good mods. With Fire and Sword is good (Not as great as Warband though), but playing it as a newcomer is a bad idea, as you will get one-shotted by firearms all the time.

TL;DR Mount & Blade: Warband is an epic open-world RPG which everyone even remotely interested should buy NOW.

I thought Paradox only published M&B. Didn't some Turkish company create it?

Yeah, Taleworlds, a Turkish husband-wife development duo, made the game. But Paradox is famous for publishing very buggy and/or niche games.

Can't wait for Mount & Blade 2.

I was going to say Mount & Blade, but looks like Over already took care of that.

Oh, and I forgot to mention a demo. A very generous demo. You can do ANYTHING in the game singleplayer, but after a certain level (i think 7), you can't proceed on.
