no one was reading the last thread so here is this thread. here goes: right now all we have are solid-looking robloxians but what if we could have translucent( see through but tinted a certain color) , opaque( distorted light) and luminiscient( glow in the dark/ light producing) bodies.
these features will have the ability to create super-natural looking robloxians ( ghosts, demons, angels, aliens, monsters, etc) and will expodentially increase the customizations of our avatars. |

| Ok, then we would need dynamic lightning, and I think that you mean transparent? You can already set your body parts transparency with a script. |

This'll give unfair advantages in war games, hide and seek games. People can just make them selves look almost invisible. |

Umm... Even if they considered adding this they would have to get all their OTHER projects out of the way. FYI I think this is a pointless idea. Let this thread die here. |

Waste of programming time. I also didn't understand a part of it... Would you be able to change it in game? Or in studio? Anwser this then I will list what is pointless about it. |

Not pointless, not that far fetched either.
What we need is "Texture Lighting". Unlike using OpenGL to render point lighting, we can use textures to fake lighting.
Super Mario Galaxy uses texture lighting:
1) Mario has soft outlines of light around him. I don't think the Wii would be capable of rendering actual light like that without texture lighting.
2) Walk into a dark area, Mario's body won't deluminate; obviously not real lighting.
3) You only need to make it look like light to make people think there is lighting.
If the Wii (of all things) has this kind of lighting (and it does support dynamic lighting anyway), WHY THE HECK DOESN'T THE ROBLOX GAME ENGINE SUPPORT EITHER YET!? |

@jack Whatever, I didn't look it up. @uwill Because it is difficult to code. And they have said that they would have dynamic lighting. |

Perhaps they should contact somebody who can actually code it. I know that Telamon (Schedelsky) won't like it, but it has to be done if he wants Roblox to stay ahead of everybody else.
CryTech, Epic Games, Naughty Dog, and Square Enix has been rocking something else in the graphics department while we still don't have point lighting. |
