| Explain how the farthest visible star is two-and-a-half million light years away: meaning that it took that light 2,500,000 to get to Earth. |

| Oops, excuse me. I meant to say "2,500,000 years". |

| And space numbers don't compare with the numbers we add and subtract in every day life. |

Responding by saying, "The spiritual deity made it that way," just shows that you have no other explanation for a sound, irrefutable scientific fact and have instead resorted to coming up with illogical and irrational reasoning.
I was appalled at whoever said it doesn't matter because you can't add and subtract it like you can with simpler math. That's a load of utter rubbish. |

| Didn't they already give a guess on how old the universe is? |

| My apologies, then. :( I can be such a pretentious jerk at times, but I was moved to make this thread after I read some rubbish on another one. |

| I don't really see the universe as defined by age. Considering how long it may or may not last, and since age is a relative thing (an old dog is 10 years, an old human is 80) there's really no telling. |

Explain:
1. Young blue stars are believed by scientists to die out within a very short time. And yet, the Hubble Telescope has found several of these stars in our galaxy. 2. Carbon-14 in diamonds. Carbon-14 has a half life of about 5700 years. In 4.6 billion years, over 800,000 half lives would have passed and Carbon-14 would be undetectable. And yet, it still is. 3. Planet GJ1214b orbits around a giant red star at about 232°C. Water evaporates at 100°C. So, over simply millions of years, the water from the planet should evaporate into the atmosphere and be picked off by solar winds. Which is why we are currently running out of Helium on our planet today. 4. Canyons can be formed instantanously. Some people argue the Grand Canyon would have taken millions of years to form. But scientists have recently observed a flood in San Antonio, Texas that carved out a large canyon about 1/400th the size of the Grand Canyon in only 3 days. Now imagine a flood 400 times as large. 5. Saturn's moon, Titan, has been shown to have methan lakes. The problem with this is that "tropical lakes on Titan should evaporate over a period of just a few thousand years." 6. Recent studies of gene diversification has shown that our genes seem to have started diversifying about 5000-6000 years ago. Which is exactly about the time predicted that the Flood of Noah occurred. 7. Fossil Records don't really support the textbook Evolution Timeline. Several fossils have been found that don't fit our timeline at all. Such as, the believed "Nyasasaurus" fossil found, as the paleontologists put it, contain "considerable uncertainties." 8. The age of the Earth's atmosphere can be estimated by its Helium content. But the equations simply do not make any sense when ran through the 4.6 billion Old Earth model. But work just fine through the 10 thousand Young Earth model. Send me a message if you want to read a 7 page PDF report written about this by a man with a Ph.D in atmospheric science. 9. Bactrial Conjugation can be used to explain why bacteria adapts and become resistant to specific bactericides over Natural Selection. Many argue that bacteria adapting is proof of Evolution, but miss the fact that there are several explanations for why they adapt. Bacterial Conjugation is the process in which cells and tranfer genetic information between each other simply by contacting. These genetic transfers are almost always beneficial and have been shown to share genetic information such as antibiotic resistance. The difference between Evolution and Bacterial Conjugation is that Evolution says the information came as an accidental mutation while Bacterial Conjugation says the cells actually got it from an existing source. |

Who says that the farthest star away is that far? Scientists? The same people who tell everyone that we evolved from a primate that still exists, and tells us that everything came from nothing in an impossible explosion? Hmm...
