I think there are a few things that could be added to Groups to give them a much larger amount of functionality. Note: These are largely for the benefit of Military Groups, but the last two features could still be helpful in other places. Those ones I've suggested before.
This first thing was brought up on the Roblox Blog but seems to have since been abandoned. However I think that they should revisit the idea.
http://blog.roblox.com/2012/07/the-future-of-groups-in-roblox/
In that article, Roblox discusses raids. Basically, groups would be able to set up a base on a large map, and create forts that others would be able to take over. I like this idea, and I think others would love it. Why?
Currently, if you're into military groups, nothing really has a purpose. Sure you can invade a fort, but once the server shuts down, its over. You can attack when nobody is there, but what good does that do? It's no fun, and nobody witnesses your victory (which holds no impact) so its pointless.
With the Raid system put in place, capturing forts, defending, and attacking all have direct impact on the world we play in. Having soldiers patrolling your forts won't only be vital, but will make group members feel like they have a reason to do so.
Imagine this: a swarm of enemy soldiers, encroaching on your land. Hundreds coming in to forts all around your HQ, marching towards your main base. Your own soldiers rallying around their leaders, preparing to take back their territory. One epic war instead of scattered, impact-less battles.
Note: Your territory would be green, enemy's red, allies blue, and neutral would be a greyish-yellow (you could toggle between these colors and regular map colors).
My other idea is this: Groups should be able to have official Divisions. Say I have the group 'Roblox Military.' I should be able to make a group 'Roblox Military: Special Ops,' which I could then list in a special tab just like the Allies or Enemies tab, except this would be labeled 'Divisions.'
The Special Ops would automatically be able to see the Roblox Military's wall, shouts, and be able to post. This could all be changed later.
This would allow someone to go into a higher-ranked or 'special ops' group and still interact with the original, without using 2 group slots.
Division walls/shouts could be meshed with their main groups walls/shouts so all members can see the same thing in one area. Or, the special division might see their own things AND the original, while the main group only sees the original.
All Divisions and Allies would have the exact same features as regular group ranks. An Admin can go in and say, "Ally's Admin can create shouts on my wall," just like they can with their own group members.
This would allow for easy communication and cooperation among different groups. Right now the Allies Tab is just a fancy list, only a slight improvement on what we did previously.
It could also work vice-verse. An Admin in the main group could be given permission to do things in the special group.
All these features would allow for more official alliances and divisions, and improve interactions between group members.
I know this is all a bit complicated, so let me know if I need to elaborate on anything. |

| Question, for the first part, would you suggest that they build a for in game, or would the leader have requirements to place down a marker at a location a choosing on their map so that the game would be able to generate a proper border in which people can spawn in their designated areas, and attack the other persons base, and if this is so what would happen with the scripted formats, HUBs, and skyboxes, as well as fog, time of day, and ect...? |

| This could be a good idea, but would the game for the first idea be like a PBS, only a "raid" server? And BUILD (see what I did there?) off that? |

@shadow Well admittedly, I didn't think about that too much. Maybe here's how it could work:
Each region on the map would have an area that a group admin could claim and build a fort on. Building Forts would be an ability that the Owner could set to whomever they chose. Now I'm sure most people would hate if the plot of land were made up of terrain, however that'd probably be how it goes.
Hopefully Roblox would adapt some of the current advanced systems and make those standard, however you could still script as normal. However Roblox would have several map-wide scripts. You could also add some of your own (same with HUD and GUIS). Creators would just take all these things into account and chose whatever they think works best, as usual.
Also, the map would be divided into time-zones with a map-wide day/night script. Each region would have weather effects built in, however you could override some of them with special devices, that could be destroyed and the weather would return to normal.
Also, the creator could approve certain vehicles and weapons to be aloud into their fort, so if you start a war with another group you could go in and let them use their own equipment. Same with allies.
I think that covers most of it...anything else? |

So wait basically someone with permission by the leader of a group or the leader would make armaments with another from a different group, they would shout get people to come build 2 separate forts and fight till someone takes the flag? or gets anoff Kos.
Then i guess another question would be what about the technology that that group has developed for fighting in raids and wars, ect...? not many ways to to make proper armaments with that aslong as most of the "Model" insert tools don work to well. |

@lex Basically, however all of them would be connected via a large map.
@shadow It would be more of a conquest system. As in capturing points, spawns, terminals, etc.
Also, as I said as far as technology goes you'd just have to approve specific models, and probably arrange with the maker of those models to inform you of changes/additions so you could approve them. |

| I believe most of this can just be made into a larger game, which it has. Although the way you have described it and placed it out is far more organized and less spamming... |

@shadow Yes, however those are still limited to one place, and once the server ends its gone. No impact.
With this update, full scale wars would be much more immersive, each battle being meaningful and changing the 'world.' |

| Well now it sounds like the game would require like 100k+ studs in area. |

Each game could still be the same size. Every fort would be its own spot, they would just be connected via travel and scripts.
Or, each place could be different, and bigger zones could be worth more points, possibly. |

| So you mean if there are like 5 forts. JC captures 1 of VAKs then the raid ends bcause people stop turning up or whatever, The fort would remain JC for the next raid? If that is a good example that portrays what you are saying FULL SUPPORT that would be EPIK :D |

@faranfast Yeah, that's pretty much it. And then VAK could go back and take it any time, or even someone else could, instead.
Also, by default you would use the original groups weapons. However, any weapons they approved could be automatically used by any invaders. You could set them as your inventory, and they'd be used any time you enter a game that has approved them.
