The thought of hating my country just seems weird to me. I mean, unless the country is bad to you, or overall is a terrible place to live, I dont understand how you could possibly hate it.
I am not British, but even Rule Britannia is a beautiful tune, and makes me somewhat patriotic towards the UK. |

First option is correct.
I love Harper, I will vote for him in 2016 if there is an election then. |

"unpatriotic" doesn't mean you hate your country, it means you don't love it unconditionally |

| I don't see how people could be patriotic. I mean it's just a piece of land with "honest" politicians ruling it, you just happen to be born and raised within certain boundaries. It's not an accomplishment. |

"Seventy percent of counties with the fastest-growth in food-stamp aid during the last four years voted for the Republican presidential candidate in 2008, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data compiled by Bloomberg." 70% of those counties are Kentucky, the 30% are areas filled with black people that don't vote
@sinii It's not a accomplishment, it's your home |

| Yeah, it's your home. There's nothing special about it. Of course you can feel emotionally attached to your country but there shouldn't be any pride in that. Why are people proud of where they're from? |

"Yeah, it's your home." It is
"There's nothing special about it." If you look at it in a pessimistic kind of way
"Of course you can feel emotionally attached to your country" You can
"but there shouldn't be any pride in that." Why not?
"Why are people proud of where they're from?" Because it's their home |

"If you look at it in a pessimistic kind of way"
No, realist.
"Why not?"
Because it means nothing. You were born within some borders, whoop de doo...
"Because it's their home"
Because it's your home, doesn't mean you should be proud of it, or even are. |

"republicans are a burden to this country and should be deported" I think all those Kentucky people should be deported to Canada or something it's not like they are productive to society or anything, being inbred trailer people and all |

"No, realist." That doesn't make it any more real
"Because it means nothing." It does to most people, and that's not even counting what it can actually mean (citizenship, location, etc)
"You were born within some borders, whoop de doo..." Much of it has to do with the specific culture of that country. They feel pride for their cultural heritage which is natural
"Because it's your home, doesn't mean you should be proud of it, or even are." Most people still are |

"That doesn't make it any more real"
It does. I'm not being pessimistic, I'm being realistic.
"It does to most people, and that's not even counting what it can actually mean (citizenship, location, etc)"
Those people are blind. They are full of propaganda. That's the only way anyone ever gets proud of their country... through propaganda.
"Much of it has to do with the specific culture of that country. They feel pride for their cultural heritage which is natural"
It's not natural, anyone with half a brain could see that being born on a piece of land is not an accomplishment.
"Most people still are"
Appeal to authority. |

"It does. I'm not being pessimistic, I'm being realistic." You believe you are
"Those people are blind. They are full of propaganda. That's the only way anyone ever gets proud of their country... through propaganda." Example: A Canadian might be proud his country has free healthcare, an American may be proud of his country winning a war Neither are propaganda
"It's not natural, anyone with half a brain could see that being born on a piece of land is not an accomplishment." I was talking about a pride in culture, not citizenship such as lizardjoel being proud of his 1/36th Cherokee blood
"Appeal to authority." Or pride of their nationality |

I'm not unpatriotic but I am respectful. I find myself not only patriotic to America but also South Korea. Arirang is cool. |

| My country has given me free education and healthcare and other benefits, these i repay to my country with taxes when i get a job and with a pledge to protect it. These are duties, not acts of patriotism. |
