They would need to put in a TON of work to make it work on Xbox.
The Real Virtuality engine (ARMA's engine) is meant for PC. DayZ is meant to have dozens of players and a massive map, which is really taxing on the Xbox's 7-year-old hardware. To make it worse, the engine is VERY demanding on hardware. Dedicated servers are a must (matchmaking wouldn't work in any way, shape, or form), and I can't think of a single console game with dedicated servers. UI, controls, etc can be ported easily though.

| it's been hinted at, but we'll be looking at the next generation of consoles before the pc version is complete (not to mention the guaranteed year of extra development after completion) |
