I know a 5 year old who loves GNU/Linux.
Just dual boot if you want to try out GNU/Linux. Search for WUBI (Windows Ubuntu Installer), but download (legally) the ISO of a freedom respecting GNU/Linux distro and install from that. |

The GNU Project was launched in 1984 to develop the GNU system. The name “GNU” is a recursive acronym for “GNU's Not Unix!”. "GNU" is pronounced g'noo, as one syllable, like saying "grew" but replacing the r with n.
