Currently in ROBLOX, all bricks - unless they're anchored - are blown apart by explosions. This has been a problem for too long! There needs to be a way to prevent movable objects from being destroyed by explosions. I suggest that ROBLOX puts a property in bricks that makes the part immune to explosions. Movable bomb shelters, cannon blasts, and god-mode player explosion immunity are only the beginning of what this incredible change has to offer.

Isn't that the point of an explosion? To destroy things that are not anchored.

The creators of places need to be able to protect important models... maybe some vehicle or perhaps a building that has working doors. These things can't be anchored but also would be ruined if exploded. I am not saying that all bricks would be protected. Just the important ones.

Sometimes it's impossible. E.G. I can't make a bombproof vehicle without this. I tried to make a script to mute all explosions and then manually make them work, but it fails when there's too much lag.

Move whatever you need with CFrame, and simulate that it is unanchored.

Again, I'm not suggesting that we get rid of explosions. I'm suggesting that we allow the creator of a place to lock certain pieces against explosions.
There are all kinds of workarounds, but none of them work very well: Some create tons of lag, some only work if there is no lag. Adding this feature in wouldn't change what's already there. It would just give robloxian builders more flexability and ability. |
