Everyday lots of ROBLOXians ask everybody for scripting lessons. I Maxanto have a solution for that when you are really mad and cant figure out a script ROBLOX Should make a little Helper When you script that tells you what you did wrong or right. for example they make a help button in the corner and when your really mad that you dont know what to do you Press the Help button And it tells you what you did wrong or right. Please comment back on this Solution. |

Scripting doesn't seem hard if you actually set your mind to it. It's fun, as long as you know the basics. And yes, you should use output to go through trial and error so you can see what you did wrong within your scripts.

@op, Output doesn't help?! Scripters use it to see what is going wrong within there scripts! It is a big help so you can find what you did wrong (As I stated before), so you'd know where you need to fix it!

The only thing output won't tell you is wrong is a logic error, and ROBLOX couldn't fix those, since it doesn't know what you want to happen.

| Roblox could have a better output. I don't think we will see that happening any time soon though. |

| Output was made to be ambiguous so error messages fit to all possible causes of an error, since the game engine can't tell what you meant to do and went wrong with. I think the output system is great as it is. |

Yes you can.
*Creates script with an error*
Hmm... *rereads script*
I'll just change this function.
*Changes function in script*
It should work now!
*Script runs with the error that still hasn't been fixed. Function runs funky.*
Only option... D: BUT I CAN'T! But i have to! BUT HOW? No no no, I mustn't. ERGG, I should.
*Uses output and fixes problem, along with the funky function.*

| Roblox can't magically figure out what you're trying to do with your failed code. If you can't figure it out with tutorials on the wiki and help from the forums, programming is not for you. |

There is no way to make an output that checks 'why something doesn't work the way it should'. The output is only meant to fix syntax errors, if something happens not how you would have liked it to, it is your own fault, because you didn't script it correctly.
And the output is great how it is. I wouldn't want it to be updated and become like the new leaderboard or something worse than how it is now. |
