| I would have to choose gameplay. If graphics were to matter, it would be like staring at artwork for hours. |

Roguelikes have great gameplay, awful graphics (usually ASCII actually, which is where it's only letters like @ for you, "d" for dog, and "D" for Dragon), Older games have great gameplay, bad graphics. Mount & Blade: Warband has amazing gameplay, bad graphics.
It's possible to combine the two.
Endless Space has the cleanest, slickest UI I have ever seen, and is still a ton of fun. Dark Souls is a gorgeous game if you have DSFix, and IMO is one of the greatest games of all time. Planetside 2 can be very beautiful at times, and still has great gameplay.
